Good afternoon my friends.

I should have specified how much $$$ a gallon/liter?

My first bike was a honda mini bike 50CC with a one gallon tank,
cost around 75cents to fill it up at the time.

I had a Lincoln Continental Town Car 460 engine. Near my place
was a gas station with car wash for free with every 15$gas...
My car was always clean...three times a week.

Now it's around 95cents a liter to $1.05.

I think it's more than that. China's starting to catch up to the US in resource consumption, so there's more demand for the same supply.
That and the oil companies are complete cocksuckers. They've found that Americans will pay whatever price they set for gas. It'll never go back down.

The refinery explosion in Texas didn't help things any.

Plus OPEC is trying to increase quotas, while several OPEC countries have been operating below their quotas due to supply & production shortages.

Oil companies are pulling record profits due to the price increases, but that's a good thing since price increases are the only sure way to reduce consumption.

There is a lot of speculation on oil futures in the market right now as well, and they're fluctuating heavily, especially with word that Iran is trying to create their own oil cartel to undercut OPEC, and Venezuela is threatening to cut supplies to us over the political intrigues of the Bush administration; and if Venezuela actually did that (not likely), it would hit us almost immediately unlike most of the other places we buy from, which takes weeks to get here in some cases. And there are power moves for oil being played out almost weekly now around the world, between China, Russia, India, Venezuela, Brazil and others.

The declining value of and faith in the dollar also doesn't help, and will make things worse as time goes on.

since I have a fuel efficient car i really have no problem with the price increases... gives me one more reason to chuckle at those tits in their H2's
i hope fuel prices keep rising... its the only sure way to insite real change and light a fire under the ass of the energy industry.
the only way to ensure progress in the US is to go after their wallet.
make it more econoical to develop new sources of energy.
