Dumb question?

yes cuz,

it u make changes to a .cfg now and u format, just copy ur old .cfg back to the old q3a/baseq folder and ur all set..

unless u change ur GFX card, settings may vary..

ok, i have one (config file) do i save both of them? one is in my "baseq3" and one is in my "ecessive" folder?

save a copy in both folders. Or just copy your baseq3 config to your excessive folder/all mod folders.

it depends at what settings you have on em both

imo, i'd save em both if ur ever going to play that mod again..

What I did was highlight all the text in my baseq3 config, baseq3 autoexec, osp config and osp autoexec config. Then I copied and pasted them into 4 separate notepad documents. I saved each one as backup baseq3.cfg, backup osp config, etc. Whenever anything got messed up, I simply opened up the relevant backup and copied and pasted everything over my current messed up config. So do that and stick em on a floppy disc.

another thing, who is it that you take on someone eles ping when you spectate them? arent you still using your own connection? :paranoid:

but how come you see their ping? that's how you can see who's specing who.

you take on their ping when you spec them.
