well my hope is ..6 months africa heat 6 months arctic spring as a normal routine.
i can honestly say i would rather heat then -50 C with high winds.
you people have no idea what cold really is until you spent 15 years in the arctic.
famous last words i know i know but at least i get to skip one winter.
god i have no idea what creepy crawly things i'm going to see .. yuk
i'm used to grizzlies ..i wonder if Lions are worse

i will .. Namibia has the same political climate as Canada and rated quite safe.
i have a gun cleaning kit for my AK just in case.

i make shitty quake4 maps and i'm a prospector ,geophysical technician ,big bad boss.. i use electronic devices to detect how magnetic and conductive the rock is under your feet and hundred of feet below that and then i take the data and make pretty maps to be used later to drill for orebodies.
in Africa i'm there to train the locals to do what i do ..basically to train my replacements and to pass on a good work ethic.
apparently they lack the will to work hard and i'm supposed to help with that.
nothing new ..i have been doing to same thing for 20 years with the native people and the inuit people.
i can't sleep but i have 16 hours on a plane to take care of that:)
