I use SP1 integrated XP install and don't do any updates.. really not necessary. I have better compatibility with older games in SP1.

Antivirus... really, really not necessary unless you're a bit naive when it comes to downloading/opening suspicious files. The slowdown from running antivirus services kills all the fun for me.

This month?????????? :olo:

I'm laughing so hard from reading this garbage I can barely type.

This [every word] post is the dumbest thing I have ever read in a T&T forum.

Duh, I use sp1 and don't believe in upgrades.....Duh, I don't use an antivirus program because it isn't necessary......Duh, my name is Homer Simpson and I'm a computer expert.

Seriously, I agree with Tormentius 100% about the certs....Microsoft certs anyway. They are very hard. A moron does not stand a hope of passing one. I know some very smart computer people who have failed Microsoft certs.

If you're talking about the 2000 track the failure rates went through the roof, especially on the design tests. The 2003 track introduced a ton of interactive content which require the person writing the test to actually know how to complete a practical task within a VM as well as adaptive testing which tests further on weak points. Your opinion is based on dated information.

I'm certified on both the 2000 and 2003 track and run 4 networks which span my province (BC). You were saying....?

read the tweakguide i posted.

seriously.

talks about firewalls, virus scanners, etc. Very knowledgable dude Koroush Ghazi is. Take advantage of his wisdom.

also, if you're behind a router, proly not worth bothering with a software firewall.
