IF your so "good" a mouse isnt going to gimp you forever. Itll take a whole 2 days to get used to the mouse being "different"
not when you've played that way for so long, not gonna happen in "a whole 2 days".

i play much worse if i'm using someone else's setup, even with my own config. too many variables - and if there's ONE variable that will decide a game, it's gonna be the mouse and/or it's settings. everytime.

He's right about having a killer lg. I still see people comment on the skills of popular players and 'julz had a fantastic lg' still comes up. <3

this is my first post on new computer :)

ya i'm using onboard video - it's proly faster than the fx5200 and geforce2 ultra - also doubled my gigahertz - am now using a 2 ghz AMD.

(mobo is asus m2npv-vm)

quake4? ehhh - not really keen on it from what i hear. Forced truelightning 1? yeuk!

Come on man join the darkside.

The dual boot with Win98 sounds like a good idea BTW.

We should do some drills soon. I've got some good ones for lg in mind.

Yep using onboard video - geforce 6150.

riddla wrote:best setting I've found to keep the beam on the target with moderate pings.

anything other than 0 is stupid to use if you want to get the best out of the gun. It doesn't change anything about the way the beam behaves, only how it appears to behave.

In fact, the higher your ping, the more reason you have to keep it on 0.

See this thread for more details:

hang it there julz, you'll adjust :)

indeed, trueLightning is misnomer, it should be renamed to fakeLightning, ie. setting cg_truelightning to 1 will make your beam always straight. This is deceptive because it implies that if your crosshair is on an opponent, you are inflicting damage, which is not the case because of net latency. With cg_truelightning 0, when you see the beam flash on an opponent, you are guaranteed that damage is being done

im slowly weening myself off tl 1. finally got down to .5. interesting affects the lower you go. much easier to pin someone with it. trouble is getting to that point.

also, had a discussion last night with one of the darkside guys about using in_mouse -1 with high dpi mice on 800x600 res and higher. said it creates neg accel. may want to look into that. :)

i think i've begun to adapt. I set my mousesensitivity to 7 in the registry, and lowered my yaw and pitch. There are actually some advantages to getting rid of negative accel - more snappy and responsive in certain ways.

Was lging mid 40's on thunderstruck last night. Also used the usb polling hack to get to 500hz.

thanks for suggestions so far.

thats ra3 tho....:p

edit: also, are you using the usb rate hack or just the hid usb hack? i ask because other devices could possibly get fuckt by changing the whole sytem polling rate.
