Normal ratio is 1:1-3:1. The old limit used to be 6:1 but they just lowered it to 4:1. So he was over 4:1.

but for real... how can anyone but their mother's be honestly interested in watching a bunch of guys ride bikes up a hill?
its almost as uninteresting as marathon running, and the only thing marathons have going is that someone's body might completely shut down.
personally i'd rather turn on the TV and watch the 24 hour wallpaper channel.
Don't you get excited about watching cars drive in cricles?
Diffr'nt strokes...
pot & kettle...
etc...
Or golf.. hitting tiny balls into a cup, walking around and drinking

I prefer to think of it as: Hit a ball, chase it down, hit it away from you again, chase it down, eventually corralling it into the cup. Then doing it 17 more times.

oops:
PARIS - Floyd Landis' backup doping sample tested positive Saturday, increasing the prospect of the American cyclist being stripped of his Tour de France victory.
In a further blow to Landis' defense, the head of France's anti-doping commission said the cyclist's samples contained synthetic testosterone, indicating his elevated levels were not produced naturally.
"I have received a text message from Chatenay-Malabry lab that indicates the 'B' sample of Floyd Landis' urine confirms testosterone was taken in an exogenous way," French anti-doping council head Pierre Bordry told The Associated Press.
Landis has claimed the testosterone was "natural and produced by my own organism."

“I have never taken any banned substance, including testosterone,” Landis said in a statement. “I was the strongest man at the Tour de France, and that is why I am the champion.”

His lawyer suggested maybe dehydration was the problem or something. that's my new supplement plan - I'm going to stop drinking water during my mass building phases to get my testosterone up.

oh well if a lawyer said it...
Fucks sake, what does it matter? The medical professionals involved in this will be far more knowledgeable on the subject than any online speculator, so he did it. American or any other nationality, who cares.
Rough summary of the tour this year:
1. 'Lol who cares about the tour'
2. American Wins
3. 'Lol take that france'
4. Winner fails drug test
5. 'Must be something wrong with the tests'
6. Winner is disqualified
7. 'Probably naturally occuring testosterone'
Lol, bollocks.

Right, sure. He tested at 11:1.
That was totally down to them moving the goalposts.

what's with that attitude? Teriba's post was made before the definitive ratio was known - and he didnt' say anything other than he had to be over the limit, which was lowered.

Maybe he's upset enough to jack up his own epi:test ratio to illegal limits.

Doesn't make sense that he only tested positive after stage 17, not during any of his other piss or blood tests after any of the other stages. And the drugs don't work like that - you don't take some steroids before a workout and increase your bench press. It's odd.

They didn't want another American to win.

They probably didn't, but I don't know that this alone would drive them to cheat on the results of a test.
Perhaps he was using a masking agent that didn't work after stage 17...I dunno. But I see now that it seems a bit like an unfair crucifixion by the media considering he was clean in every sample throughout the race and then all of the sudden positive in this one. None of the initial articles on the story mentioned this - it was just like BAM - HE'S A DRUGGY. Maybe he is, but I would have expected to see some people posing a few thoughts and questions regarding how someone would test positive in the middle of the Tour after several negative tests.
I'm not saying he's innocent necessarily...I just want to hear some more expert opinions on what may have happened to give a positive test in this specific case (i.e. masking agents...etc.)

rofl, he's probably framed.....especially since the only way to get such a high (synthetic) testosterone level is through injections.

Can you think of a way that your testosterone would be perfectly normal all through the race and them be 11:1 after stage 17?

testosterone injection, duh.

No shit.
And what good is taking a testosterone injection the day of a race going to do you? Not much.
It doesn't make sense.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was set up. Because his results just dont make sense.
Edit: You notice how both of his results were leaked to the media before he even knew them? So basically, he is going to get hanged irrespective of if he is innocent or guilty.
