I don't understand why someone would prefer to play a RTS on a console over a PC re: LOTRBFME2.

Which is exactly what I said.
Granted it's also #1 on the charts.

I rented Chromehounds and Prey last night. Playing through the tutorials on CH atm. It's very pretty, and the weapons are ok, but it's slow so far. Haven't tried Prey yet.

Not that I've seen. They pretty much said no but yes lol. There will be a Wii RE game but maybe not RE5.

Saying that though, COD3 looks pretty damn good for a Wii game and VERY close to the 360/PS3 version.

Well if it does come out it should look at least as good as RE4, which is a good thing yeah?

Is Nintendo still keeping their mouth shut about the Wii's power though?

CPU is a little bit worse than the xbox. GPU is miles better. Rams ok but not amazing. However the games dont need to run in HD either, and TBH they look fantastic for such a small ammount of power.

Isn't it twice as powerful as the Cube? If that's true the games should still be pretty sexy considering the best looking game of last generation was on the Cube.

I just rented Prey at teh store, because my address change got fucked up with gamefly and the one I had coming from there was sent back to them.

Hows Lord of the Rings II for the 360?

Reviews are all saying its amazing.

I cant stand the bloody thing. Even my RTS mad friends dont really like it. The general thing is "it could of been more". Stuttering, poor zoom levels, animations are awful and sometimes have the same animation playing with loads of units, the new "OMG amazing!" control system sucks ass etc... Its one of those games that you really should rent before you buy just to be sure.

If you liked it on PC you will like it here after getting around control issues. Its exactly the same.

I have it coming as a rental from gamefly. I just thought it might look nice on the new LCD with the dolby digital cranked up (since I don't have to worry about apartment neighbors I can finally use my surround system). I am finding I really enjoy games more when I can have the volume up loud enough to feel 'immersed'. Couldn't do that at the apartment.

I'm not RTS fan, so I won't have any expectations for the game...if there are decent battles I'l be happy enough.

I'm just starting Prey now...fuck oh dear why do voice actors in games have to be so bad?

And I am tired of the 'hey lets make every object move...lets have some beer cans and garbage cans that will move when he bumps them, and even when he doesn't...that will show off our gaming engine!"

But it will probably get better once I'm out of the bar.

the game takes itself too seriously imo. it wouldve been better if they made it a lot more cartooney and wacky. but thats just me

Uh:

Reading Comprehension for the win. Neither Bioshock nor Mass Effect are 2006 titles (2007 for the former, a speculative Winter 2006/2007 release date for the later. Winter starts December 21 in the Northern Hemisphere. An early 2007 release date for Mass Effect is most likely given developer comments recently.)

Haven't tried it yet. Hope to get to it tonight. In all honesty, I'll probably play CH some more, I'm hoping that it gets better. Part of the problem is that the damn mech is slow, which is fine except for the large distances you have to traverse.
I don't have the manual, since it's a rental, but is there a way to re-arm?

the only mech game I played was that one for the xbox with the giant controller...steel battalion. there were like 40 buttons, was really cool looking when the mech started up and the graphics were pretty good for an xbox game, but you only seemed to use a few of those buttons as I recall and it just felt awkward.

Cool idea though...
