Your financial argument was rather odd... iirc you tried to reason that if i got rid of my TV it would be cheaper to get things on DVD. Which was a strange type of reasoning that confused me greatly...
But in the end it's just incredibly convenient and not-annoying to have stuff on DVD. I'm all for it now :icon14:
haha yea i was looking at it rahter absolute. watching it on dvd rather than on tv itd be cheaper since you dont have to pay for all the "dead time" in between airs :icon14:

not only that, but you're using your time more efficiently as opposed to watching it on broadcast tv.

Seems fairly obvious as there's no bloody commercials every 10 minutes

aside from that, YOU tailor your time around when you're viewing the show, not the other way around.

I'd watch The Sopranos boxsets if they didn't cost a billion dollars a pop.

The following are all I have on my DVR set to record their series.
Just finding the time to watch them is another story.
- Prison Break
- The Closer
- Monk
- Everwood
- C.S.I. ( Las Vegas )
- Law and Order: Criminal Intent ( started late in this but am enjoying it )
- Lost ( just starting Season 1 tonight *looks around*
)
I know I'm late in this but I figured I'd give it a try with all the talk
about it with friends here at home and alot of the info I see in GD.
There are probably more but they're not coming to mind.

Not much series for me...
I always watch Top Gear though, it's brilliant!
The amount of money spent on "just" making a TV car magazine is amazing.
Every single time they go out to test a car, the most amazing images get on camera: slowmo moving back wheels of a spinning car from stand still, getting a bug in front of a car racing by, doing really silly races (a car vs a hill climber, a car vs a parachutist) and getting to drive all the cars you and me can only dream of.
When the show starts, I already get a smile on my face... The show is packed with humour!
Remember the show where they got three out-of-date supercars and they had to park them, and they moved the cars just a bit so the third one couldn't possibly park his car? And Hamster slamming the door and the inner door handle broke off... Or the modded Mercedes with a fireplace in the back and a concrete floor so it would resemble Clarkson's living room?
Even the "fastest track times" bit is hilarious, a few cars on there with two feet long descriptions, the latest one ending with "with Top Gear spoiler" (Koenigsegg) (long story short: car had bad handling, The Stig ran it off the track, said it would do way better with a back spoiler) and Jeremy Clarkson saying "we don't only test cars, we're desigining them" and the car actually did get the fastest track time to date.
Brilliant.
Anyone want to take a guess at who The Stig is?
