if opera is faster, they should stop rep from using it, given the shit that comes out of him through it.

Ok I may not have been up to date on the status of Opera. However, the amazing features you brag about are arguable at best. I'm not going to argue whether it is faster but damn does Opera have an ugly interface. I have 6 buttons, the standard menu and a text box all taking up about 10px of my screen. With Opera you give up TONS of potential viewing space for all kinds of useless features and gizmos.rep wrote:http://www.quake3world.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=320bitWISE wrote:Oh and rep...get a fucking clue. Why don't you go research current web design trends and see which browser comes out on top...fucking troll...
Link is currently down due to it being slashdotted into bandwidth hell, but the main points are quoted in the post. Opera is the fastest browser by all tests. All of slashdot couldn't refute the facts, so your argument is moot at best. Since you guys don't care about speed (Because you use Firefox, even though Internet Explorer and Opera beat it) Then you might consider the features. Opera is the most fully featured browser on the planet. Regardless of the open-source scripts of little use that Firefox has (Come on, mp3 player in the browser? Give me a break.) on download Opera has one hundred fold the capability of Firefox.
You nerds cannot debate the facts. Get over it. It's just a piece of software. You act like it's your life or something. "NO NONONONO!!! BUT FIREFOX IS FREEE!! THAT MEANS IT'S BETTER!" Poor idiots.

I usually just press backspace[xeno]Julios wrote:one thing i love about opera is that you can go back and forward pages REALLY fast by clicking Right mouse button followed by left mousebutton in succession, to go back, and vice versa to go forward.
I'm sure ff has a plugin that allows this tho.
what the fuck are you talking about?bitWISE wrote:Ok I may not have been up to date on the status of Opera. However, the amazing features you brag about are arguable at best. I've tried them but went back to IE. Its mostly the policy support and centralized updating/management which make it far better than the alternatives on the corporate desktop. Since SP2 thats gotten even better.[xeno]Julios wrote:btw i read that other thread - surprised that tormentius thinks IE is decent ... once you've experienced advanced browsing ala opera/ff, you can't really go back to IE stylez...
