I'm not really a mechanic, par se, since a mechanic generally "fixes" things. I build and calibrate, which makes me an engineer. I was at college for 2 years and bath university for 4 years where I graduated in mechanical engineering. Well I'm not in a pub band you see. I did a stint of that many years ago. Pubs didn't pay decent money. I have to admit though that if it's a toss up between chatting about your computational fluid dynamics and thermofluid systems v chatting about my highlife, it would only make sense to choose the latter.
