I've been playing WoW for over a year. We still haven't cleared BWL, but we clear MC in about 4 hours. We're up to Firemaw in BWL.

I'm an orc hunter in 8/8 Giantstalker with Zin'Rokh Destroyer of Worlds and Rhok'delar bow.

It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.

I am now sick.

I don't understand. Do you people not have a job, friends, girlfriend, etc?
4 hours to run through 1 dungeon. And people do this multiple times a week!? I barely get 4 consecutive hours to do anything, let alone runthrough a fantasy dungeon looking for some magical shoulderpads.
This isn't a flame, I just don't see how you people manage to find the time to do this.
I'm also of the belief that if you ever ditch a gf, a friend, or work in favor of getting 4-6 of online gaming time straight then you have a problem.

GW is different though. It's far more casual. I've recently migrated to it myself and feel far less pressure to "get my hours in" when I play.

Of all the MMOs out there, CoH requires the least amount of consecutive playtime IMO. Log in, do a mission for 30 minutes, log out. Task Forces are a different story, but wholly optional.

Im married, have a kid under 2yrs, go to school full time, and work on the weekends. For me to get any kind of playing time I have to just stay up stupid late, 3am and that kind of shit. The kid goes down around 10, wife around 12, and then i get 3 or so hours in. On the odd occassion I dont have to get up I may just pull an all night thing and then sleep during the morning...

That's my problem. I only get to play maybe one night a week because I have a full-time job, a gf and I also run my photo business on the side. It's not fun. :dork:

Why? Its not like I need the sleep, all my obligations are met and I hang out with the wife and kid after school/work until they go to bed? Works for me.

MC can be ran once a week, ZG same, BWL same.. There all on raid lockout timers.. MC can be full cleared in 3-4 hours if your in a decent guild.. and since most guilds are still on MC, 4 hours a week, maybe 6 if you have a guild thats new to MC..

Exception to raid lockout, if you run the instance right before the reset on tuesday, you could get them all in again on wednesday.. but your DONE until next week..

I have time because I don't do anything else. I left my gf about the time I picked up the game (completely unrelated) and I'm tired of getting shitfaced every weekend. I come home from work, I play for a few hours, I do my homework, eat some dinner, and then play until I go to bed. The only regret I have is that I wouldn't mind doing more personal dev projects but oh well I'm having more fun with WoW at the moment.

Ok, people need to read soap's post here very carefully.

It sounds, to me at least, that Soap is talking about a job here, not a game.

Dont most games at a high level turn into a bit more then just games?

The highest level FPS players certainly dont just fuck around on a pub 30 minutes a day, a few hours a day would probably be the minimum and euros who are sponsored are playing much much more. There was an interview with Toxic stating he would play 50 duels a day in the weeks before a tourney or something like that. Thats 12.5 hours. And fatal1ty is all about the 8hrs a day everyday type practice.

Its the difference between a good pub player and someone who plays to compete on ladders/lans is all.

Even if it becomes a job it doesnt have to stop being fun though...

We always focus on the lives of soap and I...what exactly is it that the rest of you do that is so utterly time consuming?

Yea, its rediculous how much farming is part of the end game content.
