I was about to applaud myself for being absolutely certain that ToxicSchmuck would post something retarded in this thread, then I realized that it's like predicting that the sun's going to rise tomorrow.

Dave, which Canon are you shootin with these days? What lenses other than the 50 1.4?
Had the 24-70mm 2.8L, 70-200mm 2.8L, 50mm 1.4, and 15mm fisheye when I was using a Canon film camera but I've migrated to Nikon digital since 2003 because it worked better for me(ergonomics).
Doombrain, wtf are you doing with a 1Ds MkII? Rich bastid! Skip the 17-40mm and get the 16-35mm or 24-105mm F4L IS. What's another few quid Mr. I own a Epson R-D1.
Oh yeah, let's see some photos...

It's not mine! It's a loaner from the canon lads, an AMP unit (advanced market product). I'll give at back at iPex and try to ponce a 5D.
The R-D1 is mine though...
Can't upload at work, fucking proxy. How you keeping??

Getting fatter and richer. You? I think I remember you bought a bike? Suzuki if I'm not mistaken? Sweet...
5D is sweet but you need expensive(top-notch) glass to make good use of it. Also too bad built quality isn't up to the 1-series and more inline with the 20D to keep price down. Still image quality is awesome.

I know, can't wait to get my hands on one. Just bought a house so doubt i'll be getting a full frame for a bit. really getting into my r-d1. it's just so nice to use, really refreshing.
can't wait to use it for a wedding. Ive got a nice 28mm 1.8 and 50mm 1.8 leica lens to try out.

Doomy, are you excited for the Leica Digital M? As soon as it comes out the 1D Mk II is going on Ebay.
P.S. Both Sigma and Tamron are compressed horse shit.

I'm not at all bothered about the DM

Why sell your 1D MkII, teriba? Don't you still shoot sports? Leica M-Digital will be sweet but I believe it will still take little time to mature being a new kid on the block. The R-digital backs are good but not great according to many reviewers in Japan.

forget it, it's going to cost a stupid amount for what you get.

I've got the 24-70, 70-200 F4, 17-40 and the 50... almost the same stuff you 've got. I might sell off the 70-200 and get the 2.8 IS version, though.
As far as the body goes, I'm waiting for the 20D replacement. I just saw an ad on Amazon while getting prices for Fender that they have lowered the price of the 20D, so it's getting closer. I like the 350D, but I played with the 20D at Bestbuy and I like the larger size/viewfinder.

20D replacement most likely will be annoucened at PMA, naturally one upping the Nikon D200...as usual...
Dave, didn't know you were so hardcore into photography. That's a lot of real estate you've got there. I thought you were just a poor hacker geek scrapping a living from .02cent hoes. Damn!

For $3000 it'd better be...
You can go a long way with that camera, especially with those lenses alone.

I like to consider myself a renaissance man... and I have a personality that prevents me from doing things half assed, even if it means paying $2000 more than I have to :icon26:

Yeah I still shoot sports. I probably won't sell the 1D MkII, but I'll be adding a Digital M for sure.

What are the specs of the Leica Digital M

Nothing solid yet. Looks the same as a film M, about 10MP probably, 1.3x crop, cost an arm and a leg, etc.

Ok so its basically the same specs as a 5D except its not full frame, but it will cost as much as a 1Ds2 because of the name? It looks small though.

Exactly. It will be a p&s size 5D and I'm in love.
