Kind of a heads up IF You are going to look for a Golf...

if you are going to look at the Mk3 chassis's, Check to see if it is a Mexican built Jetta..

Look at the Vin of the car ( at the bottom of the whindshield ) and if i begins with 3, you have a mexian sitting infront of you, i suggest bakcing away slowly and trying not to turn your back to it due to the hick "stab you in the back" returns on the car.


on the other hand, if it has a 1 2 or VWV then you are bascially Good to GO! do the usuall checks and etc.

i would ALSO like to add to anyone that is prolly going to reply to this post, if you are talking the Mk4 chassis's, The Bacisally ONLY Non-mexian's you can get are the Wolfsburg's... this apply's to the Jetta's, Golf's, Bug's, Pissat's, etc.

I gotta tell you a story about the Volkswagen Golf. Dad's friend's daughter had bought a 1998 Volkswagen Golf GTI, very well-priced, great condition, great performance all-year round. About a year after she bought it, she was involved in a head-on collision with an SUV on a fast street. She survived with barely any injuries and the accident investigators said it was the design of the car that saved her. If it hadn't been a Volkswagen, she could've easily died. Pretty convincing for me.

In answer to your question, Japanese cars such as Toyota and Honda are extremely well-built, reliable, and cheap cars. I know a lot of people that started off with a Civic or Corolla :icon26:
They surely beat the North American cars right out of the water. Just looking at the numbers of models each year that Ford and GM keep pulling back off the streets is cause for concern as a consumer.

the TC does have excellent styling and performance, and imo, is one of the best bargains out their for new cars, i'm just not with you on the BMW "bit", Bit.
