It'd be $20/month.
But... electricity rates are now up 33% over last month (fuck you PG&E). This would bring it up to $26. Still quit a load of cash to put into it.
WoW wouldn't require a kwh worth of electric. Do you shut down your PC whenever you aren't using it?
WoW could require many kwh of electricity, depending on how much you play. I have a cool little device that tells me exactly how much electricity I'm using. My current computer saps up 160 Watts when running. That's .16 kw per hour. So after about 6 hours it's used up 1 kwh.

The device is well worth it if you're trying to single out those devices that are really drinking you electricity.

Biggest electricity hog of em all - monitor.
Just turn it off when you're idling your computer, saves a lot.

The cool thing about that device is you can leave it plugged in and it will keep a running tally of the total amount of kwh a device has used. This is necessary for appliances like refrigerators, which only turns its compressor on a couple of minutes at a time.

Looks like a cool little device. I'd be afraid to hook it up to the TV/cable box/receiver and see how much each hour of TV costs us.

Oven/microwaves take a lot more then any computer or tv. So don't leave them on to heat the house

Scarface wrote:Holy fuck, the x1900 xtx on it's own under full loads draws 459W, fucking insane
maybe you should reread the article. 1900xtx on its own in the article is 341W.
let the thread die in peace now.

I've got a X1800XT in my PC at the moment, and boy is it sweet. Hasn't blown my 480W PSU just yet. It's damn loud though :icon8:

Yes. As hard to grasp as it may seem, some of us have to leave the house at some point.

That's true for CRT's, but I don't think LCD's really use too much.
