That was in January 1998, some cities were out of electricity for a only few days
but some others for over 40 days. You could have skate in the streets.

Heh. I was raised in the BC Interior and lived there until '98. Winters run from Oct - Mar or Apr and temps consistently drop to -30 or lower. Trust me, I know all about proper Canadian winters and love 'em. In fact, the lack of snow is one of the few things I miss in Vancouver.

Ha Ha, revenge on the Whisler/Blackcomb. All of their runs are melting.

However, this years national Ski/Snowboard week opens on my local mountain. In Ontario. And so far, we only had ONE big snowfall, and nothing else, so all the 1.5 meters of slush there now has been genereated by snowmaking equipment. We had above zero temperatures for a larg part of the January here, when temperatures are supose to be sub -10C. The fracking jumps are melting! I have snowboarded for only one day the whole season, and I came back home soaking wet!

AAGH! :icon23:
