They are two different styles of drama. Why bother comparing them to determine which is "better?" The 'better' one to anybody is the one that they like more.

I watched the first 4 seasons on DVD. I don't know how i'm going to go a fucking week between episodes this season. Just waiting till tomorrow is already killing me, and the situation at the end of tonight was [for an episode of 24] hardly tense at all.

And i had read on the net that a major character was going to be killed in the first few minutes. My bet was on Audrey, but no such luck.

edit: and I just cannot get over how vicious this show is. Even beyond the frequent torture scenes, characters keep being forced to do or undergo such incredibly harrowing things it's quite shocking. The first things that come to mind are Jack's finding Terri dead at the very end of season 1, Jack having to actually go through with killing Chappelle in season 3, Nina Myers surviving as long as she did, and -- this one takes the cake I think -- Jack drawing a gun on the CTU surgical team near the end of season 4, forcing them to sacrifice Paul Raines to get a clue out of that asian guy.

After the first season, they had a 24 hours of 24 marathon on FX. I watched the whole thing

Glad I don't watch the show. I can't handle addictions like that.

Personally it seems like they're setting Tony up to be the next Jack Bauer.

I did the exact same thing, and couldn't have said it better myself. GG Netflix. :icon14:

Hmm, I hadn't thought of that. I think it could work, though...

But his injuries were pretty severe, isn't he essentially going to be out of action for the season? You don't recover from brain surgery in under 24 hours.

Glad I read this thread before fucking seeing it.

Spoiler alert would be good.

Figured that was a no-brainer. Especially if you're posting the day after it aired.

Fair enough if you apply that to every single thread about anything on screen ever.

Right I'm out before I find out yet bloody more.

My theory so far is that President Logan is involved in all of this. I bet he's already poisoned the russian president when he shook his hand. Furthermore I'm not totally convinced that Palmer is dead and if he is he totally knew that that sniper shot was coming and took it because he had to in order to protect others.
I also wouldn't be surprised if this was all orchestrated by the Chinese government to get Bauer out of hiding.

Naw, Palmer has to be dead. Wayne was really pissed/emotional when he saw Jack, plus Jack saw Palmer's hand sticking out from under the sheet -- and it had the virus scars on it from when Mandy poisoned him didn't it?

Anyway, Logan does seem t obe acting strangely, but what I don't understand is why the assassin whom Jack already killed said that Dessler, Chloe and Tony were diversionary targets. If it's true, then it seems very arbitrarily non-arbitrary [if that makes sense] for those three to be chosen, and if he was lying to steer Jack in the wrong direction then it just seems such a painfully obvious lie, why even bother?

edit: Two more questions. How come the footage of Jack was "proven not to have been doctored" or whatever, since it obviously was faked? And how did that Cummings guy manage to have a fake conversation inserted over Mrs Logan's real conversation with Palmer? We learned a couple seasons ago how much expertise and crazy technology it takes to generate fake conversations, so why was it done so easily now?

I don't think Logan ahs anything to do with it. He is to much of a douchebag.

Palmer is dead....ha has to be. unless that is a cover up too........christ anything is possible with this show
