heh I've almost dated my current gf 11 months and it feels like hardly any time at all. 1 year is not that long. give it 3 then start worrying if things are falling apart.

My longest relationship was 2 months, and it's really only that long because of the distance between us we saw eachother only once a week.

Be strong tsakali! If you're feeling down, just tell yourself that she was a waste of over a year and wasn't good enough for you.

tell yourself that she's not good enough for you, yet you spent a year with her?

self esteem issues :icon10:

best advice i've ever given is to tell yourself she wasted your time, she was a slag, and you were just too caught up in getting laid to notice at the time -- breakups get easier if you hate the person afterward :\

Been with mine for 8 years. Wouldn't trade her for the world. Of course it took me until I was 31 to find her. Be patient and find miss right, or at least miss right now. Don't sweat it dude, if she's not right you'll find the right one eventually. Never really found breakups a good feeling.

the best advice you've ever given? you're still a pup. you'll look back on that advice one day and lol yourself into a corner.

it's good advice, and you have remember context -- i'm talking to people the same age as me with the same amount of experience. There's a great deal of difference between a breakup of a one-year relationship between teenagers and a one-year relationship between a couple of thirty-somethings.

Regardless of context though, it's good for helping someone through grief, and is better at cheering up some blubbering bloke than "She was great, but you have to let her go" or something like that. It even might be a lie, but it helps.

breakup sex rocks.

btw you'll soon find you can easily hook up with other girls, the only question is do you want to right now? when my gf broke up with me about 3 months ago i was shocked to suddenly find 3 other girls competing for my attention no less than a month later. one of them was even an ex-girlfriend from years past. the thing is though i really dont have any desire to hook up and date anyone for a while after my last relationship.

it's funny how life works itself out so don't sweat it. breakups suck but once they happen you can't really go anywhere else but up in life.

That's what being drunk for five years will do to a person :icon14:
