Blooms the new toy. When people are used to it, it will soon start to filter out.
Just like shaders. When id first did shaders, they used them EVERYWHERE. Now, we just get more subtle effects, because they dont need to show it off as much. But its still there.

TBH, in this one I think it's a way of disguising the fact that there doesn't seem to be much in the way of object lighting
