You dropped the ball though when you made it public by posting it here. I could understand if someone was trying to claim it as their own, but they aren't. I don't think you'd get very far with a frivolous claim like this one.

I hardly dropped the ball in making that statement…as I alluded to riddla could have very well pointed out the same fact…or for that matter any number of people that have visited this forum and viewed the original postings of the scripts...as it was repeatedly stated…which lead to the reasoning for affixing “Beta” to the file name.
As for others claiming that my works are their own…*cough* shaft *cough*
Section 106 of the 1976 Copyright Act generally gives the owner of copyright the exclusive right to do and to authorize others to do the following:
• To reproduce the work in copies or phonorecords;
• To prepare derivative works based upon the work;
• To distribute copies or phonorecords of the work to the public by sale or other transfer of ownership, or by rental, lease, or lending;
• To perform the work publicly, in the case of literary, musical, dramatic, and choreographic works, pantomimes, and motion pictures and other audiovisual works;
• To display the copyrighted work publicly, in the case of literary, musical, dramatic, and choreographic works, pantomimes, and pictorial, graphic, or sculptural works, including the individual images of a motion picture or other audiovisual work; and
• In the case of sound recordings, to perform the work publicly by means of a digital audio transmission
The original dispute was over the distribution of my copyrighted works…that now seems to be changing.
Raven and id are unlikely to intercede on the behalf of the offending parties since it would send a clear message to the modification community that their works are open to pillaging. Not a precedence they want set…or notoriety to be stuck with, in the aftermath.

I thought I made those scripts. I was amazed, because I dont know how to script, but my name is in the scripts and I found "Canis ©2005" at the bottom of each script. Yay!

Did you tell anyone not to distribute the scripts when you originally posted them? Did you have any kind of legal statement to that effect? Did you tell anyone they were exclusively for raw to use?

I did not inform anyone that distribution was forbidden …the omission does not grant the right of distribution however.
As for legal statements…see prior post for USA, and more or less reads the same for most western countries.
The scripts where not posted for raw…I think you have the situation confused…that is understandable.

Tormentius will be tried under Canadian law in Calgary, by one of my business partners. Lawyers and paper work have yet to be done.
This isn’t some thing that’s done over night, and tends to drag on for several months.
Any ways enjoy the laughs now at my expense, and those later when your buddy’s have their paychecks garnisheed, and are stuck eating spam for the next several years.
