On a magnet, there is a south pole and a north pole. Same poles repell and opposite poles attrack each other.

The magnetism itself doesn't have anything to do with the diamonds being made, does it? I thought it was purely a matter of pressure that created diamonds.

THERE ARE NO MAGNETIC MONOPOLES! Chew on that for a while.

And as a bit of a pedantic note, any discussion of forces falls under dynamics, or in this case electrodynamics. Kinematics is the study of motion without regard for the governing forces.
