because the ps2 cant do the fancy stuff the xbox1 can now. with the exception of artistic games like SotC, most ps2 games look and feel stale compared to its xbox-counterparts. mostly because of fps and shaderissues

It will be released in March / April btw, in Japan anyway. Its that time of year in Japan because all thekids get their results to see if they can go to Uni. If they get in they get lavished with gifts and shit!

Even though I'm an xbox and ninty fanboy, I cant help but also sit and think "its released to early".

PS3 and Rev have a nother year left. Thats fine. The PS3 needs a decent looking pad before anybody i know will even attempt to play it (Ha, GG Ninty on your patent), and the Rev looks good, but i alrady have an emulator, portable too (PSP), I would rather havea beast of a machine so i can play Metroid 97, even if it IS with a DVD remote Control.

The 360 is a damn beast of a machine, its nearly as good as the PS3. But as everybody is saying, its just to early for it. The xbox has shit loads of life left in it, and can produce some good looking games when they are made just for it. The PS2 even pumps out a rare gem every so often, and thats HOW old again?

Tis a shame. Tis also a shame M$ want more money and thought up this whole core thing. Thats the most fucked up thing ever, nobody wants the damn core system. You should of just gave the HDD with every version, so dev's can use it. Dumb asses.

Jes, the hard drive part of the two systems, sucks. They could have at least made one hard drive only 5GB. And leave the other at 20GB or something similar.


As I have typed my message about playing the XBOX 360 I did not have a chance to post everything I wanted to, as the library was closing and I had to get off before I could even complete a sentence, I just had to hit period, and enter. (the 30 computers went off 15 MINUTES before it closed, WTF?)


So, I played: Call of Duity 2, King Kong, NFS Most Wanted.
This was played on a large plasma (or LCD), wide screen TV.

The shear level of detail, and people on screen in COD2 os abso-fucking-lutly amazing. The weapons are photorealistic, the faces of the charachters are really good. And some locations aproach photorealism.

I traditionaly hated and despised playing councle, specialy FPS games, on them. But the 360 and Call of Duity 2 have changed my view on that, even it is still hard as fuck to aim at some nazi all the way on the roof with your sniper, it takes 45 whole seconds and shots to get the aim on him (because he is so far oway), and when I do get the aim on him, he moves GRRR!
But still, I am wiling to overcome that and actualy get a councle, because the whole feel, the mobility, movement and everything in COD2 feels just like PC FPS. So traditionaly, I hated that rubber feeling that councle gaming gave FPS games, but in XBOX 360, the feeling is not there.

the King King game was amazing, there was an intro, with some charachters talking to a camera and then they walk oway, so I am standing there for the cut scene to finish, I'm still standing there, so I press a key to end it, when I notice the camera move, holly smokes, it was not a cinematic but my actual characters view in game!! It is like photorealism, so real, the mud on the ground, trees, wals, rocks! And the devs felt that it lookes so real, that they did not include a HUD display, you just see what you would normaly see from your eyes.

There was a scene, where I ran from a T-Rex and in to an underground lake, the water effect is so life like, and you could see your arms swimming in the water when you move, or when you float in a spot, and the hands actualy create waves.

CoD2 is one of the least good looking games on it IMO. Its like playing with clay men, they look stupid and shine. You get that many people on the PC version, with the same frame rate i might add.

Now visuals wise, kameo was one of those ones that leads the way, but even that wasn't AMAZING. Its just like they said "Hey we got a shine tool now! Lets over use it!"

I cant wait for the serious games to come out, next year, when people know what they are doing with the kit. Then it will be less in your face new effects and more solid gameplay with more focused visuals.

the COD2 people on the 360 shine a lot less than on the PC.

And I guess onother reason that they look so mutch better than what I have seen is because my PC cant play Doom 3, or Quake 4. Yet.

Well, look at it this way.

Doom 3 versus Quake 4.

How much better does Q4 look, not only in terms of detail, but also design? Take a look at the faces in doom 3 and compare them to the faces in Q4. Its light years ahead. They now know what they are doing, see.

Then, take a look at the shadows. "oh we have a new toy lets use it!".

But... Its the same engine as Q4, yet we can see?

Less in your face, because your not gonna be wowed by the same tricks anymore, so why bother over using it?

kameo looks like fun - i think. not sure yet. it has co-op though :icon14:

I still haven't seen any promising games for the 360, except perhaps from Gears of War, but no one knows when that will be out..
