but you're lumping "blogs" with only personal journals. you lose.

its an unnecessary acronym, and a bad one at that

So, one should always say "bicycle" instead of "bike" then too? And "motorcarriage" instead of "car"?

shortening motorcarriage to car has an obvious use, innit
also, if youre gonna short weblog, at least call it "log" like people did 4 years ago. that sudden "blog"-craze just irritates me :D

I have 2, and used to run a journal hosting service. They're both personal and the kind of thing you post on when you're depressed and/or drunk.

Why do you make a blog if you want to keep it personal, isn't it supposed to be a place you write things and share them with others, isn't it the purpose of it in the first place?

Ok pete, that doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Are you drunk?

Actually, once you cut through the formatting, it makes perfect sense...

but log is used in general and can refer to any ol' type of "log". blog is more specifically for logs on the www. its an important distinction.

dont be so pretentious sir, just get over it :)

I knew it might have been difficult to understand my reply.
My part was ...Why do you make a blog if you want to keep it personal, isn't it supposed to be a place you write things and share them with others, isn't it the purpose of it in the first place?
The others before were from MQ and Glossy

i didn't say anything about wanting to keep it personal, that's why it's on the internet. I share the URL to a few close friends and at least then they know what's going on when i won't tell them. It's just a way to vent, and it's uncomfortable to have a personal journal, so i put it on the web instead.

wooo Y generation!
