LOL this is rich coming from Gwamps who was too stupid to know or had no problem with his bald headed LAN CLAN booting people for no good reason using PB to do it to make it look like they caught cheaters yet when PB actually catches cheating users he objects.
Gwamps if you ever ventured out of your safe little enviroment of your own LAN you might have something useful to say on that subject.

rofl why are people so paranoid about "privacy"? its not like theres some big brother agency thats spying on averge john and jane doe and listing what websites they visit and files they download into a database or something
and this is even more so for hardware. Are you really bothered with pb knowing your cpu id?

That's not really an option here. PB is partitioning or is being partitioned by multiple game developers. They're also a part of every popular game on the market. If I want to play BF2 on a ranked server and progress my stats, PB will be there.^misantropia^ wrote:It's not like Even Balance is trying to keep this aspect of PB under the hood. If you don't like it, don't use it.
It's not like I cheat or even plan on cheating. It's the idea that a non-partial company is governing the games I play. They also make the rules and deal out the punishment with no recourse. Not only do they punish you for the infraction of cheating in a particular game, but they also punish you for potentially cheating at games that aren't even out yet. It would be like head of the DEA being able to arrest someone for possession of 1 joint and then sentence that person for 5 pounds with the intent to distribute, without a trial or parole. Never mind the fact that they can take information from your PC and not tell you what they're taking. Even Balance sounds more like the Gestapo than a software company that manufactures cheating detection software.

Then let your dollar (euro|pound|rand|rupee|etc) speak: don't buy PB-enabled games. If enough people do the same, developers will be sure to ditch it. One of the (very few) virtues of capitalism.YourGrandpa wrote:That's not really an option here. PB is partitioning or is being partitioned by multiple game developers. You're an idiot with nothing to say, which is obvious.riddla wrote:what are you, republican? I tell you you're the one who's uninformed and then your only recourse is to say I'm uninformed?YourGrandpa wrote:Why do I have to be bent out of shape? I simply don't agree with there policy. And I have read about PB. You'd know that if you yourself had read this thread instead of running your mouth like the true uninformed idiot that you are.
Thanks for playing....
comedy gold.
I'm a member at punksbusted.com. I admin a BF2 server. I've read Even Balance's explination of Punk Buster. I've also read multiple threads on multiple web sites that have opinions that vary. I have also developed my own opinion and expressed it here.
You are the uninformed one. There's no mistaking that.

They aren't going anywhere. Besides, I don't want them gone. I just think that their policies need to be revamped.^misantropia^ wrote:Then let your dollar (euro|pound|rand|rupee|etc) speak: don't buy PB-enabled games. That was then, doofus. This is now.riddla wrote:Having personally worked with Tony Ray during the introduction of pb for Q3 to iron out some issues with the program it really doesn't pain me to tell you to fuck off.
Keep assuming though, its cute.
They are reading undefined information off of peoples computers, building a data base with that info and banning people for life from PB servers. This isn't anything like the Q3 days.
