i never understand why so many people overpay their taxes. the government doesnt pay you interest, so why give them a free loan?

I tried explaining that last year. People just don't get it. You should try to get as small a refund as possible. If I get more than a couple hundred $$$, I readjust my deductions so it doesn't happen next year.

I did mine this year and found out I'll be getting more but I have to wait for it for the time being.
I got 300$ back this year but I've never claimed my student loan in past years so I haven't gotten anything back from that and I was supposed to so I got about 3 years backpay owed to me or about 900$ plus I haven't received a single GST check for the last 3 years and apparently that's another 700$ so all in all I'm doing ok this year.
