Someone needs to get to the bottom of it, cause it is really getting annoying shooting some ppl 4-5 times dead on which shotty while they mg me to death :/

The SG spread is 3.5 times as wide as the MG. Even if they would've been equal, the MG would still be more precise because the shape of its spread is circular while the SG's is rectangular, making the radius of the former about one-third smaller. The SG shoots 11 pellets at once, then reloads for 1000 ms. Every pellet does 10 HP damage. The MG fires a bullet every 100 ms. Said bullets do 7 HP damage in FFA/Tourney but only 5 HP in TDM/CTF. To kill a myth: the client and the server display the same SG pattern since they use the same seed.

What? Is this true for only Quake 4 or both Q3 and Q4? If the latter is true then what caused the whole thing with the blue match?

Ah sorry. I was talkin about Q3, haven't really tinkered with Q4 yet. It's possible that iD fixed the SG behaviour in one of the PRs but that must've been a *long* time ago then (think 1.16, 1.17).
