No doubt.
Hate that we never hooked up while you were in town man, I'll probably give you a ring sometime soon.
I've got a friend who moved down to your neck of the woods, so I wouldn't rule out a trip down there in the next couple months.

Last year St. Lucie County got bombed with two hurricanes that hit our coast. It was Palm Beach County's turn this year. At least Wilma had to cross the state before it crashed into Palm Beach. I work in Jupiter and drove to Boca to inspect Job Sites on Tuesday. I've seen the damage 1st hand. Even now my office is running on generator power, gas lines are hours long and 600,000 customers are out of power (that's customers not people). The damge from this storm is vast and extensive, but it's no worse than what happened to St. Lucie, Martin and Indian River counties last year. Too bad everyone in Palm Beach won't have their power back on until November 21.

Gramps, once again your assessments are inaccurate. I'm a 3rd generation, native Floridian and my family has been in south Florida dating back as early as 1923.
This is the worst thing to happen to South Florida in 50 years. I love how you say this is the same thing that happened last year.
)
I was here last year and was right outside the wall of the eye of both Francis and Jeanne...this was WAY worse by far.

This storm affected Palm Beach the same way last year's storms affected Saint Lucie, Martin and Indian River Counties. You guys didn't get it any worse than we did. I've personally seen the damage of both storms. I live in Saint Lucie, have family in Indian River, drive through Martin and work in Palm Beach. I've personally witnessed the destruction of both seasons. When was the last time you visited these areas in detail? Palm Beach caught the bad side of one storm. Quit trying to pretend Wilma was so much worse, because from what I've seen it wasn't.

Wilma was a bad storm. Much worse than anyone expected. But it was no worse than the Francis or Gean.

I beg to differ asshat. This storm happens to be the worst storm we've had in all of south Florida in over 50 years. The amount of damage is sick.
Fortunately for me, I'm in Atlanta, GA and was in Nashville, TN earlier this week on business and will be back in Nashville tomorrow. From the early reports, alot of people got ass-raped by this storm.

It's called population and "the city" all of which Saint Lucie and Indian River isn't.
Wilma affected the Florida Keys all the way up to Palm Beach county which is known as the "metro" area which businesses are predominant. While the damage may look similar to from a physical standpoint, Florida's business has been drastically affected by this, moreso than if we completely lost Saint Lucie and Indian River counties altogether.
Saying it is the same, is just a ridiculous and uneducated opinion.

Wilma didn't do nearly the structural damage as the other two storms did. And, you should probably wait until you see the estimated damage reports before you start claiming one storm was more financially devastating than another.
Lots of people missed a few days of work in Plam Beach county because of Wilma. Thousands of people lost their homes and many businesses lost buildings to Francis and "Jeanne".

Hurricane Frances--The storm left some 49 dead there while forcing the evacuation of 2.8 million people in Florida as well as knocking out power to about 6 million there as well. Frances was also responsible for producing 75 tornadoes. Final damage estimate is $9 billion dollars for the storm.
Hurricane Jeanne--After impacting Florida, the storm spread northward into the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Northeast, where it produced flooding rains and tornadoes. Total death toll was estimated to be over 3,000, and the final damage total is estimated to be $6.9 billion.
Hurricane Wilma--Between three and six million people were left without power in the hours after the storm. The storm has already killed some 38 people in Florida (21 deaths), Mexico and throughout the Caribbean including places as far away as Haiti. Initial damage estimates are said to be $9 billion dollars.

There was a tropical storm named after me last year. You would think it would be a bad ass cat 5 hurricane that ravaged everything thing in it's path. Shit no. It was the gayest goddamn storm I have ever seen. There was like a little bit of water. The news showed children playing in it.
