Last week I went into one of my local EB's and some little 18 year old kid was telling me how "the industry" works. God that was funny.

Some actually have a clue.. Our EB here, everyone that works there is a gamer, they dont take anyone that isnt.. And the people who work there, dont beleive every internet rumor around..

Shops like this are few and far between, but they ARE around..

Somebody called up my game shop today...

They said they bought nintendogs and a DS from us, but want a refund because its broke. I nicely told her that we dont refund hardware, but if its faulty i can sort out a replacement for her. She then went on to tell me the fault...

Well, thing is, her dog wont come to her....

She told me she named her dog, but no matter how many times she called him, he just wouldn't come to her. She said she spent a few hours last night calling her dog, but she just wouldn't come to her. She was positive it was the mic broke.

So she comes in, flops it out, and stares at me. I said ok, you think its the mic? So we turned it on, started playing with the dogs, and then i whistled.

(At this point, the woman looks at me in a strange way)

What are you doing? She asks me. I tell her that to call your dogs over, you can to whistle them too. It works best at the start because they haven't understood their name yet. She didn't even know this.

Well, it worked. Mics fine, everything is fine, nothing is wrong. Checked it in another DS, fine... Just the dumb ass lady here can NOT get Jenny to come to her, unless she NOW whistles.

Anyways...

A little while later, she calls the dog. Right in the middle of the shop, shes standing there.

I want a refund, its broke.

6800, the 6600 is shit, plus the 6800 has all 16 pipelines unlocked and can be clocked to over ultra settings with no risk really.

why pray tell is the 6600 'shit'? it can do all the 6800 can (albeit a bit slower) and has a very nice pricetag.
it can even run doom3 at ultra settings at steady fps. that should moist your fauxfilled pants, no?

Well, for a start the 6800 is on sale for £180

Second, the 6600 doesn't have all of those pipelines AT ALL, so you cant just "unlock them".

It also performs quite bad in serious, future games. And spending that kind of money on a card that wont run games available NOW at full detail is a tad crazy, no?

i read its rather large and i want it to fit my case .

It's different depending on the card manufacturer. 6600 just refers to the chip.

and soon i will have a 4ghz processor to chuck behind it and it runs everything good...
