do that and you will never ever lose.
Dude, it's up, up, left, down, circle, square, up, up, left.

Oh, and the best martial arts advice I can offer is to ignore anything Kracus says.

The only fighting style you need is the one from the movie Equilibrium, called GUN-FU.

another vote for judo, on the street you're gonna get hit no matter how good you are and you're in a 100% contact situation it's better to train in a similar sitiuation. plus the throws and joint locks are fun at parties.

Everything but Judo at your university will be shit without exception, and then maybe 50% of the Judo clubs will be shit. The problem with universities is that they will avoid any contact in a striking context, meaning any "striking" they teach will be "taught" without hard contact, meaning it's useless. The good news is that though the university administration don't like people hitting eachother with their body parts, they encourage hitting people with the floor. Judo.

edit: the only people in this thread you should probably listen to are me and Deji.

what kind of fucking dick "shows off" with throws and joint locks at a party? A dick that people make fun of a lot, I'd reckon.

Hey, easy now, Captain Judgemental. Maybe he's a stand-up guy that uses throws to open beer bottles, or puts an armbar on a door to open it for a hot chick.

Hmm, yeah I didn't think of that. I've always opened beer with a rear-naked choke.

if you wanna do martial arts for fighting or self-defense, you'd better do kickboxing and wrestling.

The rest is good to train your body and get focus.

styles that train only one specific element and focus only for competition like judo, boxing, etc. are sports not martial arts. WHether the one aspect they teach is superior to martial arts in their particular envioerment is a mute point casue they are one dimentional and onyl adress one small aspect of combat. My advice is to take jeet kune do, it has elements of everything including weapons and roleplaying tactics.

Strangler has a rich and exotic past of saying stunningly stupid shit. In fact, the only times when he doesn't say stupid shit are the times where he says things that are really amazingly pathetic.

Exactly. How many times have we all said "Damn, if I'd just gotten that bag of Doritos to tap out, I'd have gotten that chick's number"?
