but 200mph is a magic number.. 199.999 is not 200
what .02's ??????

1 miles = 1.609344 kilometers
1 kilometre [km] = 1000 m = 0.6214 mile
so when going from km to miles
multiply 315km by 0.62 is what i meant

lol

i didn't fuck mine up that bad though. all i had was a big dent and my front bumper got torn out a bit. plus a bunch of scratches. i was actually able to still drive mine afterwards.

after seeing that video though i think i'll convert my dub to a rearwheel drive, take the front bumper off, and add a cool spoiler so that i have two. twice the aerodynamics == twice the control (that video is proof).

i was actually just offered an STi engine for $3500. would mount perfectly since it's got the same pattern and such. the only problem is that i don't have $3500 just sitting around.

oh, just to clarify... i wasn't calling you a chump... just remembered your little "incident" ;)

but what you should do is save the 3500, just buy a helmet... some new tires and autocross that thing.

just got new tires so i'm good there. although the tread i got is more geared towards wet asphalt than anything (good for rainy oregon here).

i need new discs and pads too. as far as i know they were never changed before i got the car and i sure as hell know they havn't been changed since i got the car. the discs are pretty warped--lotsa wobble even with moderate braking.

so brakes are my next purchase. i might be getting and extra flow of income this next comming month so i may splurge and go for upgrading to some brembos. if not at least i'll get some drilled and/or slotted discs.

every time it looks like i'm gonna have money to spend on modifying my car something always comes up. i'm about 2 years overdue from when i was planning on getting an intake and exhaust system. i havn't even gotten a turbo timer, which i really need since most of the time i drive my car rather hard and then just shut off the engine. ack.

heh, i had "disposeable" income that i was going to throw at some bills (thank you tuition assistance at work) ... but my water pump blew this week.
and since my car was built by drunk mexican children, i was unable to get the friggin pump out. (not enough clearance between the engine and the bay-wall.)
+ one of the cheap junk bolts holding the pump to the housing snapped... so the housing needs to come off, and have that drilled out.
but i couldn't get the housing off either... since the idler pully needed to come off to get to the last bolt holding the housing on. but there is also not enough clearance for the pully to come off.
so i had to pay for a AAA membership to tow it to my mechanic ($20 cheaper than actually paying the tow-truck guy), then i'll have to pay through the nose to have him do it.
i can tell its not going to be cheap... that little bugger is a real PITA to get at/out.... he'll probably have to rock/lift the engine.

the moral of this story is that this is my first and last ford... ever.
i've had more problems with this car in 10 months than i did with my old cavalier in 6 years.
you'd think i would have gained some iota of reliability trading an 11yr old 160,000 mile car for a 4 yr old 46,000 mile car. (now its @ 62k and 5 years old)

i have yet to see a ford that isn't made like crap. my friend's dad has a ford pickup. in order to unlock it you have to put the key in all the way, then pull out about 1/8 of an inch and then turn. then, to actually start the car you have to do some of the same, yet you also have to jiggle the steering wheel. cussing seems to help a lot too.

10 min in they go into this showroom that looks amazing.
as soon as those spots turned on i'd spill my seed.

heh... my ignition cyl locked up due to a defect that ford didn't fix until the '05 model.
so i just drilled it.
been starting my car with a screw driver for a few months.
i should get collision on it and then go pretend its a WRC focus... only without the 4wd and 400hp.
