Is there better LAN play, or just the crappy multiplayer from Burnout3?

There is multiplayer. I know you can do six people in multiplayer.
I think with the offline multiplayer there's a couple more options than the online play.

But if you're playing online look for SPDSTR.
I think I'm rank in the top 100 right now.

Kai's been fine for the last few months. I play Halo2 with guys from FL, TX, CA, NJ up to 12 sometimes with little to no lag so far. I only play people in my list though not public arenas.

We may get a few 1 or 2 minute stints where it gets funky but for a few hours of game play it's worth it.

Are the Burnout games any good for Singleplayer folks?

Gran Turismo 4 was fucking lame sometimes...you have to play the same races over and over again to get decent cash, although it wasn't as bad as in Gran Turismo 3.

i don't like it as much as the last one.

why the hell did they take out the replay for the crashes???!! That was the most fun - watching the carnage from the different angles....

still a great game though.

Got Burnout Revenge today :), pretty awesome:
+ Looks excellent
+ Takedown camera has vastly improved
+ No DJ Announcer (thank christ) and the intro movies are easily skipped.
+ New game modes which are actually fun
+ Tracks have the "normal missionary route", but you can master it using the little ramps, tunnels, shortcuts etc., which is excellent.

- They changed Crash mode and it's shite now :\
- No 'skirmish'-type matches, you can only singleplay through the Challenge Circuit
- The car selection is wank now
- Track intros are shit
- Interface is wank

~ The EA Trax selection is too broad, from emo rock to almost-techno. Good, since you're not stuck with wank most of the time, but bad because not all of it suits.

Although Burnout 3 does some things like Crash mode better, I think Burnout 4 has become my new favourite

Also, I say wank too much :(

I think they tried to make the crash mode a bit harder by having a target car.
But I never really played the crash mode that much, only when I had to.

I like the shorcuts they have put in it.
Some can be extremely dangerous, especially on one track that I can't remember the name of.
It's nice to have little jumps here and there so you can gain some extra boost.

I didn't like the checking forward traffic part at first, but once I started to get into it, it was pretty fun.
Especially when you could check traffic and block a shortcut that your oppent might take.

There's even been a couple instances where the opponent has checked traffic and the friggin' car has landed right in front of me.
Good fun!
