thing is, the agreement doesn't even have penalties for defaulting, and 2C limit has been criticised for being too high. Trump could have stayed in and got the same outcome in terms of jeerrrbs (whatever that is). instead he went for the 'bad optics' approach. what a fucking tool

Drumpf pulling the US out of the Paris Climate Accord may end up being a blessing in disguise for the planet, despite Drumpf's best efforts. It's galvanized governors and mayors across the US to say they will adhere to the accord despite Drumpf, I think the number's over 80 right now, including the governors of CA and NY. And on the international level, countries like China, France, Germany and Canada are all vying to be #1 in climate change prevention now that the US has fallen behind.

IMO, the whole Trump presidency will be a blessing. Even if it takes until 2020, the conservatives will never recover. Once the left has a chance, they'll never remove their grasp...

The Dems are so incompetent they won't be able to capitalize. Or if they do, it will be short lived.

Mattis has repeatedly said that the US was committed to Article 5 of the NATO treaty, which is meant to deter Russian aggression by promising that an attack on one alliance member would be seen as an attack on all. If Vladimir Putin sent tanks into Estonia, for instance, Washington would have to come to the small nation’s defense.
Or at least it would if Drumpf were willing to explicitly and publicly endorse the provision. The problem is that he isn’t. During a speech in Brussels last week, he ignored the advice of Mattis and other top administration national security officials by refusing to mention Article 5, infuriating many European leaders.
Making matters more complicated, Politico reported that Mattis wasn’t told about Drumpf’s decision in advance, meaning the Pentagon chief was caught flat-footed — and undercut, yet again, by his own boss.
Mattis has long been seen as a voice of reason in the chaotic and impulsive Drumpf administration, a sober-minded and experienced national security professional who believes in the policies that have guided US presidents from both parties for decades.
He’s spent his first months trying to clean up the president’s messes, in Asia and elsewhere. The problem is that Drumpf keeps making more of them.
If Drumpf gets escorted out of the White House in handcuffs, it will make all this worth it.

For the uninitiated.
Almost too much to keep up with. It doesn't appear that the NSA was able to glean much although there are a ton of "we don't knows" in their report so who the fuck knows. The paragraph of the article is all that really matters though...
I'll be eating popcorn tomorrow while the Comey inquiry goes down.

I caught a bit on the radio on the way in but I came home after work and watched all 2.5hrs of it. Interesting indeed! Trump truly looks like a psychopath juvenile trapped in a 70-year old man's body when juxtaposed with Comey. Also what the fuck was with McCain. What a rambling fucknut.
