I got the year (era) right and everything I said was period relevant. You said "Light fixture and switch will take a total of about 15 minutes to change. Door another 15 minutes". I didn't assume the bathroom was the only area. You implied it. But all in all I hit the nail on the head. You bought an old fixer-upper. Enjoy your renovation nightmare.

If you think changing out 1950s tiles is merely cosmetic, you're sadly mistaken. You're going to have to REMODEL the entire bathroom. Because removing the tile will cause you to have to replace the drywall. To remove the dry, you'll have to remove the tub/shower/toilet/casework/lights. After that will be the electrical and plumbing upgrades. And the list goes on... BTW, I haven't "professionally" twisted a screw driver in years. Though I'm sure I'm still infinitely better at it than you.

I've removed and replaced tile before. Drywall is easy and so is the toilet. I won't need to remove the tub or shower. There's no need to touch the electrical or plumbing. The tile does not go behind the counter and only covers the bottom half of the walls. The tile in the shower is fine and doesn't need to be replaced. So, no, I will not have to remodel the entire bathroom. Thanks for your concern, but I have this.

A lot of times this old tile will come off without destroying the drywall. I've done it a few times in houses very similar in age to this one. Maybe they did things different in Florida in the 50s, I don't know. But here, I know what I'm dealing with.
