http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/footbal ... 076094.stmThe Football Association will take no action against Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe over the biting incident in Sunday's game with West Ham.
Defoe seemed to bite the arm of Javier Mascherano after he was fouled by the midfielder, with both players booked by referee Steve Bennett.
An FA spokesman said: "We are unable to take any action because the referee has already dealt with the incident

I don't recall Suarez getting a yellow for any of them, or having his career threatened from the 1st incident.Doombrain wrote:

Re: FIFA World Cup 2014
This his rant on football morals ? (fuck FB), I don't think it has anything to do with it tbh, there's a good chance Suarez will be a Real / Barca player in the coming months and just look at the stick Owen, Mash, Torres get for showing a lack of morality in the way they left where as players like Alonso and possibly Suarez leave with many blessings. Diouf and Barton for example are seen as scumbags the world over regardless of club or country.
I do think fans are more clued up about their own players, for example Uruguay fans know that Suarez is a working class hero who learnt his trade in a country where a certain dirtyness is a part of the sport. It's a lot easier to form an opinion of a player from a snapshot or a headline. I'm not saying he's completely wrong, I just think in this scenario he is but I also think that's why players like Roy Keane for ending a players career intentionally, Ben Thatcher for knocking someone out cold, Wayne Rooneys outbursts, Collymores wife beating, Shearers head stamping, Defoes nibbling and even British born coaches are rewarded with sympathy because of this lack of morality and looking after our own where as foreigners (like Suarez, David Luiz, Capello) are easy targets. It extends further, like Zidane as great as he was used to be a dirty player, but because he achieved hero status he become invincible and why now he has survived with his reputation intact and leading world cup bids for Qatar, much like Maradonna and Cantona has. If/when Suarez becomes a Barca/Real player I can see the ban being rescinded for domestic competitions and despite playing in exactly the same manner will gain more sympathy from higher powers and the press.

Only watched the second half, became a bit conflicted about who to support. My sympathy was with Costa Rica but they ended up defending like crazy and i don't like watching that at all... so i couldn't help rooting for the Greeks, who were actually trying to win. So very many completely missed opportunities by them though... at one point it was 5 against 2 in a counter and still they fucked it up.

Don't get me wrong, i know we are nowhere near the caliper of some other teams.. but as that game stood...lets just say greeks shouldn't have been eliminated by that team, at that point
Re: FIFA World Cup 2014
Gotta give credit to Algeria, they did their best to freak out the jerries.
