Dexter is still trying to come to terms with the death of Rita, killing doesn't appease him in the same way that it used to. Her death actually affected him in ways he doesn't understand and is having a hard time getting back on track. This last kill was the first since Rita's death which satisfied his dark passenger. I think Harry and his usual careful precision is absent due to his crumbling personal life.

I think the latest episode is starting to put things back on the right track for Dexter. And the previews for next week make it look like everything's intertwined. Is Deb gonna figure out Dexter? If she does, will she keep the secret or bust him? How many seasons are left in the show? Hmm...

Normally I avoid them for exactly that reason. I just couldn't get to the remote quick enough this time, and I couldn't stop myself once I was halfway through watching them.

It's odd what kind of mistakes Dexter makes tho - Chase already displayed his superiour recon skills by mentioning both Rita and Harrison's name, yet Dexter won't be extra careful with the matter especially when his kids are in his house.

I've wondered about the same thing. Dexter should have known that Chase would be one dangerous guy from the very beginning, Chase probably intuitively suspected something a little "off" about Dexter. This should be an interesting cat and mouse game.

In the books, Deb finds out in the first "season".

i'm guessing that by the end of the season, deb (and possibly quinn) know dex's secret, and quinn kills robocop which ties up that loose end.

If anyone's going to kill Robocop (and it's pretty obvious he has to die for the show to continue), it'll be Jordan or Lumen. My money's on Jordan, as I think he's trying to act out some sort of plan of his own right now, and I thought the guy would die in this episode rather than in the next one.

Either everyone finds out and is okay with Dexter or Lumen somehow gets pinned as the vigilante, she takes the fall to allow Dexter to keep doing what he does.
