My friend just told me he doesn't piss in the shower because it just feels wrong.

He freely admitted that there wasn't anything particularly unsanitary about it, but he just refuses to do it.

edit: He told me this because I showed the thread to him and said "Damn, I can't believe how many men don't piss in the shower."

Who knew?

and just to clarify - if it can be shown that pissing in the shower is unhygienic, then by all means I will adjust my habits accordingly.

Is this because the poisoning effect of methanol is partially a function of its concentration relative to ethanol?
No, it has to do with the way your body converts methanol after ingestion.

fucking hell - women :olo: you get antsy about the toilet seat being up but you're quite happy to piss in the shower. there's a moral in there somewhere

i don't buy that.

it's like when you hear water running or when you're near a bathroom, you might all of a sudden have to go when that happens. unless you're some kind of MORAN and start the water WHILE standing in the tub, then there's little chance that you didn't have to go right before you stepped in.

I'm not going to argue whether it's sanitary or not. I just don't care.

I prefer the sink.....
My dogs and cats drink out of the toilet and I dont want to contaminate their drinking water.

I think girls won't admit to peeing in the shower, but when you gotta go you gotta go, y'know?
Exactly. I would go so far as to say getting in a hot shower actually causes the urge to pee and do you think I'm going to get out of the shower and soak up the bathroom floor just to go in the toilet??

Somehow I have been placed in the wrong camp ,on this issue , by someone here, who knows who they are , egregiously harming my reputation of sanity around the vanity

I dont pee in the shower. I've done it a few times but I think most everyone has.

I actually dont think that hot showers make one want to pee in the shower. I think its a more of a "why the hell not" attitude. Its not habitual, its a once in a while thing...if you didnt bother to pee earlier but feel a slight sensation to, go right ahead. Its not hurting anyone.

Maybe that becomes habitual (and perhaps a daily ritual) but its still not something you save up to do in the shower. Shower pissers feel that you can either do it in the toliet or the shower, whatever comes up first is fine...who cares, it doesnt matter, just be comfortable.

As for the question of why do it a reason FOR doing it as seremtan asks...the answer is quite easy: convenience as scooter said.

there is one reason for not doing it and thats that other people might mind (even if it is unreasonable). i mind standing in another person's piss even though it makes no sense. i'm not sure why either. so i guess you can say that if anything perhaps you should restrict pissing in only your own private shower because others mind (whether its rational or not).

how can you not be sure why you mind standing in someone's piss?

because im not sure (given if its fresh piss and not stale). maybe if you feel the same way, you can explain it? not trying to be smart here, im genuinely curious.

the only reason i can think of is circular and therefore void: i mind standing in someone's piss because its someone's piss.

dude, that's the only reason you need. i'm standing in my own and certainly not in someone elses' bodily fluids. that's just sick to even think about.

Just out of curiosity, how many non-shower pissers rub one out while in there? If so, what would say would be the difference?
