I tutor highschool kids in math/science

I do course development for OSU's extended campus, putting all course materials (lectures, quizzes, midterms, finals, etc.) online.

jack of all trades and master of none. part of 3 companies at varying stages of success, and thankfully ex-part of another that went down like selling ground-zero snowglobes in texas.

But I came home with £4300 today for 3 hours work start to finish. That's £1433 an hour, which is £2 million a year. Your wife doesn't earn over 4 million dollars a year does she, geoffrey? Surely if she did, she'd buy you some Just For Men..

Edit: awesome maths.

Can I go into work with you? I'll have to put my old size back on but your line of work sounds enjoyable.

But strangely, gynaecology is the common form here :tard: (I'm all for original latin or greek spelling, how elitist it may appear to laymen)
Different root, though.

I'm trying to go radiology rather than surgery; but no, I'm still a locum middle grade in A&E. Not least because the pay is pretty amazing; plus there's plenty of time to <s>dick around with drawing and music</s> revise for my exams

I'm a researcher in the immunology and cancer departments for the not-for-profit drug discovery branch of a prominent cancer clinic and also for its peripheral pharmaceutical company. Specifically, I design and run tests for new treatments of asthma, GVHD, and a few different cancers.
Basically I do the expiriments and someone else puts their name on the paper.

At the end of the summer I'm dumping the job and returning to school to take a stab at getting my PhD in immunology and cancer biology so I can publish something when and how I want to publish it.

At least 'sort of how' you want to publish it (after the review committees get done with it.)

:p

Interesting, I did research for the Hematology department here in Rotterdam. It related much to Graft versus Host disease.

Can you explain all the steps it takes to become a doctor? I don't understand the stuff with the residents and real doctors and stuff.
"Many people think that becoming a doctor is difficult. Others have some sense that becoming a physician takes many years and is expensive. Most people realize that being a physician is difficult yet rewarding. All these people are correct. Becoming a physician is a long, arduous, expensive process that can only be accomplished with great dedication."

http://people.howstuffworks.com/becoming-a-doctor.htm

That's how it works in the States. I've met a Canadian MD on vacation and she told me that it's slightly different in Canada, but I'm not sure about the details anymore since I was slightly inebriated.

In the Netherlands you'll have to complete 4 years in university and get your doctorate (or MSc Science), then you proceed to clinical practice in numerous teaching hospitals during your 2 year internship. After that you're an MD and will have to get a residency if you want to specialize in something you'll really want. Mostly that's another 6 years. And then I've not counted the 1-2 years you mostly work as non-resident to get more experience.
Is it worth it?

Although $34,104 a year for residency is not baaad...
