If you guys want all the resolutions and something better than that eyeball-popping 60Hz go into mods/bf2/settings, videvideodefault.con and change allowallrefreshrates to 1.

just updated my vid drives from nvidia, but im thinking ill end up having to use those "new/beta" ones from the demo :(
Me, Im not updating mine. I was having issues with the latest ones. It kept freezing up my games every 10 seconds or so. So I downgraded. But the demo froze up on me last night. I see they didnt change the stupid way you have to setup the controls. :icon33:

EDIT: Just tried them, and while they fixed the shadow problems. The studdering has reappeared. Its so annoying. anyone know what might be causing it? MSI 6800 GT, and any of the newer drivers I think 61.77 and up. Cause my games to freeze for seconds at a time, and the sound loops. Then retruns to the game. It does this randomly around 10 seconds to 30 seconds inbetween studdering. Normally when studdering occurs my hard drive is doing something, but when this happens my HD isnt doing anything. No HD lights come on.

damn.... grabbed a 1600 seed torrent off torrent spy and its smoking down the pipe at ~350K/s
I'm still wondering why file planet etc... don't just turn their free servers into torrent seeds and trackers.

hopefully this game is as good as its hyped up to be.

Because 2 months down the road all the 'old' files have 0 seeds. Imho they should just add 2 or so trackers in addition to their http servers, this way even the free users get a choice if they want the mostly speedier torrent.

umm.... you missed what i said.
if all the free servers were being seeds... how would they have no seeds on old files?

I see... well, they already have a huge database that would somehow have to be recategorized for bitorrent. But in the long run it would save some bandwith, so it does sound like a good idea. ;)

would also elminate the queue nonsense they have now.

Bitorrent is much less efficient that HTTP downloading when there's only 1 peer and 1 seed. So for the thousands and thousands of individual files that FilePlanet has archived, that would represent a very large overhead on their servers, all the time.

Even with 1 seed, 0 peers, the seed has to talk to the tracker periodically.

Perhaps if Fileplanet had a tracker for brand new files, that would be viable.

speaking of wasted cycles and bandwidth... why do you have a sig the size of asia?

Dunno, talk to Pauly. He did something with one of my posts and it went like that.

Seems he'll have to go and change it *shrug*

Well they should at least use it for new files like demos or movies that are bigger than 100mb or so... then 2 months down the road they could ditch the seed on those old files for all I care.
