I didn't even realize that I couldn't post there. So it doesn't matter to me either way. It's pretty sad if there's an entire group upset.

We don't have all of the classic architecture around here that you do across the pond. Drop ceilings are quite common in some of the most upscale of places. Buildings are designed more for convenience. Having access to the above ceiling space is more important for future expansions, making upgrades and performing service work.
