Watch Dogs
Re: Watch Dogs
You may be buying a new console instead...
Re: Watch Dogs
Yeah, dust off your ball dude.
Why is this even released for xbox360/PS3?
Marketing wise, this game is an excellent opportunity to force next gen.

Re: Watch Dogs
Or leave the console alone and play it on PC?

Installed user base. No amount of record breaking launch sales figure for next gen consoles will make them a more profitable platform than current gen hardware.Plan B wrote:Yeah, dust off your ball dude.

Re: Watch Dogs
are both versions (next and current gen) done by the same team btw?
cause last time, xbox to xbox360, completely different teams worked on the two versions of SplinterCell:Double Agent and the 360 version of that sucked balls. Especially compared to the Xbox version.
this worries me.

Re: Watch Dogs
It's the same game. We do indeed have a team for the current-gen consoles, but they're simply technology teams, not game design.

Re: Watch Dogs
This game is going to be the proverbial shit.
Re: Watch Dogs
Gotta say, I was more impressed by the earlier teaser.
Pro PR tip: make teasers increasingly enticing nearing release date. Not the other way around.
Unless you want to put a damper on expectations for some reason, of course.
It's like they got their shit backward; first a cool gameplay teaser going into detail, and then this generic cinematic teaser.

That's why I never commented on the video...because fully I agree with you.Plan B wrote:It's like they got their shit backward; first a cool gameplay teaser going into detail, and then this generic cinematic teaser.
Re: Watch Dogs
Well isn't this trailer more of a mainstream video? What I mean is, I see the other videos targeted toward the more hardcore gamer. And this new video as something that can be played as an advertisement for gamers who may not know anything about the game yet...
Re: Watch Dogs
exactly what xer0s said.
newsflash, not every potential customer is teh hardcorez

It seems more like a television commercial for "generic action game X" more than anything else.xer0s wrote:Well isn't this trailer more of a mainstream video? For me though, it's the overall tone of the vid (due to music and editing) that makes it feel like a commercial for another game. It actually feels more like a Max Payne ad, with the hoarse voice talking about "them goin too far" or some shit, followed by quick cuts of melee smackdowns. I seriously rolled my eyes throughout the entire thing.
lol marketing teams, etc

While I share the sentiment, I can't say I share the feeling of surprise.GONNAFISTYA wrote:It seems more like a television commercial for "generic action game X" more than anything else.

It's been confirmed long ago that games that aren't targeted at a mainstream audience by the developers are still going to be marketed at the mainstream audience just to grab additional cash. You may roll your eyes at that and you may dislike the fact that they lower themselves to "call of duty" levels, but in honesty, if trailers like these are a necessity to keep creativity going in the gaming industry, then they can fling around all the dubstep infused trailers they want, and have millions of ignorant teens buy the game as well. If that's what's needed to keep the dollars flowing so more creativity is possible in games, then that's an "evil" I can be content with.

You sure are a agree-able guy.
Not necessarily a good thing.
