So you're the one moron that thinks it's a good idea to knock up an 18 year old at 22 with no concrete plans for the future.

BTW, there's nothing imaginary about you being a fat, womanless nerd.

Her father was in the military for 23 years and he was a big supporter during my training for it, i fail to see how thats me only doing it because daddy asked me to.

Personally i think the army will be a wonderful choice. Everyone makes different decisions and life a different life. doest means anyones is any better than anyone elses.

sidenote: you seem very pessimistic.
Blah, blah, blah... Your girlfriend is pregnant and now you need some way to pay for it.

Nowhere did I say you joined the military because her daddy said so. You said he gave you the idea by suggesting you join.

The question included "apart from".

I'm still intrigued, though, that you're so proud of having acheived less than almost anyone else on this forum. Throw that interweight around

So, just because he's young and didn't plan this kid he's doomed to disaster? And I suppose everyone in any military is a leech? Come on I know you can't be that dense. At least he's not running away from it, leaving her to fend for herself. Whether you like it or not he's doing what a good portion of dads don't do these days, stand up and take care of it. Sure, fucking without birth control was not the smartest thing, but that's kind of irrelevant now. Coulda, woulda, shoulda, all that matters is that he's dealing with it.

You must have a shitty health care plan. We spent $20 copay for several prenatal care visits. Doc, hospital and anesthesiology were all payed 90% and the balance we payed pre tax. If you think paying a few hundred dollars for a birth is expensive, then maybe you aren't in the right place in life to provide for a child...

edit: oh yeah to Obliv: best of luck. The first few weeks after birth will quite possibly be the most stress you'll ever experience in your life.

Congratulations, and if you decide to go through with it, best of luck.

At least being in Canada you know you won't be shipped straight to Iraq.

that was my point...he's 22/3 without any real disposable income (yet), so the costs of caring for his wife, his baby, and himself are going to be much more than he suspects and he might have a hard time at it.

I don't know how the canadian military works, but the us military gives you extra pay if you're married, plus more pay for each dependant you have.

congratulations anyways and good luck
