I didn't think plasmas needed the extra Hz. I thought only LCDs needed the extra Hz to be smooth.
If you work for Samsung, why are you recommending people get a Panasonic TV?Mr.Sparkle! wrote:If you're going to get a plasma then get the panasonic v10 series. Remember, when Pioneer went down, Panasonic took 2/3rd of their engineers and all of their patents. Panasonic is light years ahead of their competition in the plasma field. With the refresh rate, nowadays with the new 240hz refresh rate, you can't really tell the difference from 120hz. It's all about the video processing within the TV. Shoot me a msg if you have any questions, I work for Samsung.
Most mid to upper tier plasma sets come as 24p capable...just like their LCD counterparts.Deathshroud wrote:Thats the thing, when playing 24p content the refresh rate is typically lowered to a multiple of 24. Which is why plasma's seem like they might not be such a great option anymore.

Anything but 1080p 24 runs at 400/600hz and is super smooth, better than any LCD.Fender wrote:Juggs? DB?Fender wrote:I didn't think plasmas needed the extra Hz. I thought only LCDs needed the extra Hz to be smooth.
We just bought the same TV. Though the one I got was a 54".Doombrain wrote:http://shop.panasonic.co.uk/invt/txp50s10b

I'm not going to bash another company or tell lies when there are better products out there. If someone is in the market for a LED display then I would tell them to get the 8500 Series. Samsung's 860 series is still awesome but there are better plasma displays out there.DTS wrote:If you work for Samsung, why are you recommending people get a Panasonic TV?Mr.Sparkle! wrote:If you're going to get a plasma then get the panasonic v10 series.
