I've heard more conservative estimates at about 30k - 90k.

Having read the articles on this, I'm not sure I understand what the protesters' point is. Then again, I'm not sure they do either

Well Max Baucus has released the healthcare reform bill that everybody's been waiting for, out of the senate finance committee.
http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/art ... wD9AOFBD02
A bill that excludes a public option, but requires all citizens to purchase private health insurance, and fines people who don't purchase it.
Maybe it's more accurate to call it the bill that the insurance industry has been waiting for.
I believe Baucus has gotten around $2million in campaign cash from the insurance lobby, by the way.

Basically a national version of the disaster of a plan that Massachusetts got.

Health insurance stocks rallied a little after he released his bill.

It's good to see the White House respond directly with facts
My problem with this whole czar thing was one of ignorance (which seems to be the case for quite a number of people at the tea party). I had no idea why they would even refer to someone in this type of an advisory role as a czar instead of a more innocuous term. I actually to go look up how it ended up being used in this manner.
The fact that dumbass morans can be stirred up they way they have been simply by going "zomg czar communists rabble rabble" means it's probably wise to start using a different term =/
Silly Americans.

Never mind that St. Ronny was the one that started using the term.

I don't think that blog does anything to dispel the concerns of anyone actually concerned by czars.
What they need, is a plain and simple video, using plain english, that explains that czar is simply an unofficial title, a slang term, and that these people are still fully accountable and reside within the administration as they always have. I would include a few analogies along the line of, a secretary could also be called the office gatekeeper.

Plain and simple english will NOT work on people who want to be angry. These people CANNOT be reasoned with.
Seriously...the Obama administration should just go ahead and do every single thing they promised the folks who voted for them....while giving the finger and saying "fuck you" to the Republicans and their insane, baby-eating base.
I really mean that. Obama should make an address to the nation and say,"Hey...you retarded rednecks...fuck you. I'm going to do what 70% of the country elected me to do."
I simply cannot fathom why people let the morons run the debate. Oh wait...yes I can...cause the morons have guns and are demonstrably insane.

Utterly amazing comment pulled from digg:
http://digg.com/politics/Bill_O_Reilly_ ... tion_VIDEO
I am a conservative.
This morning I was awoken by my alarm clock powered by electricity generated by the public power monopoly regulated by the U.S. Department of Energy.
I then took a shower in the clean water provided by a municipal water utility.
After that, I turned on the TV to one of the FCC-regulated channels to see what the National Weather Service of the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration determined the weather was going to be like, using satellites designed, built, and launched by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
I watched this while eating my breakfast of U.S. Department of Agriculture-inspected food and taking the drugs which have been determined as safe by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
At the appropriate time, as regulated by the U.S. Congress and kept accurate by the National Institute of Standards and Technology and the U.S. Naval Observatory, I get into my National Highway Traffic Safety Administration-approved automobile and set out to work on the roads build by the local, state, and federal Departments of Transportation, possibly stopping to purchase additional fuel of a quality level
determined by the Environmental Protection Agency, using legal tender issued by the Federal Reserve Bank.
On the way out the door I deposit any mail I have to be sent out via the U.S. Postal Service and drop the kids off at the public school.
After spending another day not being maimed or killed at work thanks to the workplace regulations imposed by the Department of Labor and the Occupational Safety and Health administration, enjoying another two meals which again do not kill me because of the USDA, I drive my NHTSA car back home on the DOT roads, to my house which has not burned down in my absence because of the state and local building codes and Fire Marshal's inspection, and which has not been plundered of all its
valuables thanks to the local police department.
And then I log on to the internet -- which was developed by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Administration -- and post on Freerepublic.com and Fox News forums about how SOCIALISM in medicine is BAD because the government can't do anything right.

Those Departments and Administrations aren't all they're cracked up to be. Just because we have them doesn't mean they're well managed...
