one minute... what if... the vision of ben's daughter was not smokey but anubis... what if smokey came and went as we saw, and then his buddy anubis popped out to say hi. Smokey being smokey and dead people being anubis would make sense. Have we ever seen 2 dead people together?? I think these dead people have passed but anubis uses the image of their bodies (which he would have "handled") to pass on messages to the living.

Maybe Richard is Ra (Richard Alpert) which is why he doesn't age.... *shrug*

In "The Cost of Living", Eko awakens to find Yemi in his tent, telling him he needs to confess before finding that his tent is on fire. Searching for Yemi, he soon decides to follow Locke, Desmond, Sayid, Nikki and Paulo to the Pearl station. While waiting outside, he sees Yemi again, and follows the apparition to give his confession. Upon learning that it is merely a deception, Eko grows angry and chases Yemi into the jungle, where he confronts the "Monster". After being thrown about by the Monster, Eko is finally thrown to the ground.
He didn't confess.... Ben did. ?

I've been thinking that as well. Maybe Locke is his son that rose from the dead like Jesus.

Good riddance to him, he was always confusing the hell out of me with his strange antics and his continuous reluctance to explain anything.

at the same time, young faraday seemed to be the only person who had an inkling of what was going on yet was clearly a decent fella.

same cannot be said of locke, ben, jack, whidmore, or faraday's old woman bitch.

who else thinks the writers are just making this up as they go along, and that the whole thing will end with a hurried and clumsy BSG S4-style denouement?

I don't know if you'd call that being Losty, or Prison Breaky, but it's all the same when it's obvious that it's being made up as they go.

I have since I watched season 2 and have been pissing people off in this thread pointing it out. :olo:

I disagree with you about BSG ending for Lost, the whole story was written (apparently) before production even began. I think the hurry and clumsiness is actually happening right now. They're adding filler (and somehow trying to tie all the new shit together) because their original story wasn't supposed to go this long (in terms of years on TV)....so they're literally stringing us along with made-up shit until their lauded "punchline" falls in our lap. And it'll be gay...and everyone who watches will go "what the fuck" when the last "LOST" text jumps on-screen to end the series...and for some reason people will scream up and down the walls that it was "the best" television series EVAR!

The thing I'm waiting for is how the writers will explain how Alpert could be on the island (not aging) and still somehow manage to be Mayor of Gotham City. :p

i think season2 was really well written.
3 and 4 less so. 5 really is just a mess of forced tie-ins and developments. what happened throughout the entire season 5 could have happened as a subplot in season4, or if they were being efficient, in 4 episodes.

there are also way too many clues and nuggets around now to keep for speculation. atm im just waiting for it to be over cause i am curious where its going - i stopped theorizing half a season ago.

Can't wait for the 2 hour special now.
Will Locke do what he said or will Ben have words with Richard and thwart him?
What effect with Locke's plan have on the Island if he succeeds?
Will the other guys detonate "Jughead"?

My guess is that Jughead does get detonated and that is why Desmond and his mates had to go out in the suits in season 2 and the reason why no child could be conceived on the Island for a large period of time.

Also Radzinsky goes down to the drilling station where Daniel got Peirre to stop drilling and starts again, hence causing the hatch to be built and employing someone to push the buttons...although it could be caused by the detonation of Jughead

Fun fun fun! Roll on Sunday evening :)

well. that was.. interesting.
a bit torn i must say, it didnt provide enough for a double ep imo. some filler scenes in there, like the delayed blast of the nuke.. sigh

now then, wtf is that dude that took over 200 years to get close enough to jacob to kill him, using locke's appearance. and why so much trouble?

:-x season 6 wont be a minute too soon

i'm completely intrigued by what's happened considering this last episode. are there 2 gods at wit's end with each other? know jj abraum i wouldnt be suprised if there's some deeper message about humanity being constructed here. after all, he made star trek as a beacon of light for his kids...he wanted to make a movie that relayed some sense of hope on the future of mankind.
