Happens on rare occasions for me aswell.. i just re-direct them and it works.

Try and point a bit infront of the sandbags to make sure they get on the right side.. then point closer to the sandbags/obstacle and issue the order... voila. :icon25:

But since they are a squad they tend to spread out and use real life tactics and try and cover from all sides and NOT to gather up incase of an incoming nade... i guess.. :shrug:

Well, I am seriously starting to not enjoy this game...I'll point my guys at a wall to do covering fire, and they will invariably either stop about 4 feet from the wall and say they can't shoot to where I direct the cover, or, like i mentioned before, walk around like the three fucking stooges to the wrong side of the cover. Although they are two very different games, the squad AI in Republic Commando blows this squad AI away - but perhaps that was an intentional aim of the developers...

Also, I really enjoy dumping about 2 clips into a guy from close range, with my sight trained right on him, from about 15 feet away, and watching him calmly reload as I do it. I know that reality is something the developers strived for..so there will be weapon spray, etc., but shit, I can't expect my guy, who is a member of the 101st airborne, to be able to snipe a guy in the head from 20 feet away when he has a clean shot?

I've spent the last hour on the fucking asparagus field mission, where you have to blow field poles..and each time I am getting slaughtered near the end of the mission. One of the main reasons for this is that, when planting a satchel charge, I was accidentally standing over a german k-98. So, instead of planting the charge, my guy drops his good rifle (not sure what it was named) and picks up the k98. No big deal, right? Wrong, because he threw the old rifle into the aa gun I was going to blow up, and oddly, it just disappeared.

Plus, about 25% of the time, when I come out of the squad vision mode thing, the screen is oriented either upside down or rotated 90 degrees to the side....it's fucked up.

Also, I can parachute out of a burning plane, but hopping a 3 foot tall wooden fence is impossible...there are some places where that ability would be useful.

The only places I have problems moving my squad around is the sandbags. They sometimes go all wonky.

Your squad wont fire if they cant see the enemy. You have to move them around a lot so they can get clear shots. The enemy doesnt stay in the same position all the time, so if you're flanking, and the enemy sees you, they will position themselves differently and focus on you. Sometimes when they do that, your teamates cant get clear shots in. When that happens its a good time to move your teamates to a better position while you provide the cover fire.

They should have added a way to issue squad commands in the vision mode thing, because you cant get your squad to run around to the other side of a wall. They will run to the side you are facing and face the way you are facing its annoying as hell if you are behind the enemy and your squad is on the other side of the enemy and you need them to close in.

I'm having the same problems as TNF, AI wise. The game is awesome, but it has big problems with AI and path-finding. I find myself actually running in rambo-style because my squadmates are stuck in a tank, or stuck behind a fence. It's retarded. Also the tank-driver seems drunk. He can have a anti-tank gun pointed at him, and he will still aim at the lone infantry from fucking Ost battalion or whatever they're called.

I hope they release a patch soon, because it's too buggy.

The game is the shit though, really intense sometimes!

I've also seen lack of accuracy when firing over a wall at point-blank range. If there's no obstruction it doesn't happen. I'm sort of attributing it to the fact that IRL not every shot will drop someone.
Haven't had any squad AI problems yet, but I've had it lock up with looping sound three times so far.
Wonder if that's an EAX issue?

If you give a direct order to fire at a target your squads/tank will fire instantly and keep fire on that position until the target is terminated or if you issue a new order... the problem lies with you i think.

And whats with all the A.I getting stuck all the time? It happend maybe 2-3 times for me throughout the whole sp game... if you look at your squads when they move you will see that they stop behind covers for a few secs to recon the place before they move on... they are programed to do that... maybe thats what your meaning by getting stuck?

I cant hit shit with my Thompson.. but the garand and carbine works flawless.

The sound issue, where did the loop occure?
Haven happend to me... infact, my game runs flawless with little bugs and problems.

with me all i do is point where i want the supressing fire and they all find cover automatically

if i wanna place em behind the wall they do it with no probs :shrug:

i did have the 90 degree screen and i shit because i thought my card finally went PARP, but all is good now

overall, fucking fantastic game :)

No no no...not at all. I know when something is stuck or not. We talk really stuck here, when even though I give out commands to walk somewhere, they don't. They simply get stuck.

Also I know how to use the command system, and I know that they will keep firing on that position if I ask them to. But if I issue a move command into a zone where there's two posibilities to shoot at, like my example in my previous post, the tank (or squad for that matter) usually chooses the most retarded pick, often someone they can't hit because of a fence or something, instead of shooting at the Anti-tank gun, or at the guy right in front of the tank aiming on it with a panzerrfaust.

No no no...not at all. I know when something is stuck or not. We talk really stuck here, when even though I give out commands to walk somewhere, they don't. They simply get stuck.

Well... i havent had these many buggs/fuck ups... but maybe i was lucky.
Lets hope they fix that in a future patch then.
