I only managed to see two films at the Stockholm Film Festival this year:
Dumplings - 8/10
Chinese movie by Fruit Chan featuring Ling Bai and Miriam Yeung. Very "Cronenberg-esque" mixure of disgusting not-quite-horror and drama about women (and men) that will do almost anything to stay young. Awesome cinematography and production design, but the plot was not bulletproof, and the ending left me a bit disappointed. I guess that my Western expectations on the morality of what should happen to bad people didn't really match what I'm guessing was a perfectly natural ending according to Far Eastern culture.
Anthony Zimmer - 7/10
French mystery/thriller featuring Sophie Marceau. Very well made despite the somewhat low-budget "tightness" of the cast and environments, with great cinematoghraphy and production design but, again, the plot was not entirely convincing. Sophie Marceau was outstanding though, and the film is definitely worth watching just to see her act in her natural milieu.

'Cidade de Deus' or 'City of God'.
Absolutely mesmerizing, despite the crappy English subs I had to search for and tweak to get properly synced.

You know, I watched The Devil's Rejects tonight and I'm not sure what I thought of it. I mean I have to wonder if Rob Zombie had some sort of ideal or message in the film. I honestly don't know, was it just gratuitist violence or was it something else.

Two For The Money...it was okay, it got a little boring in the middle and was pretty predictable - 6/10.

I wish there was a more violent and gory version of American Psycho like an unrated version that is 10x as bad. That would rule a lot.

"Hitchhiker's guide...": 7/10. It's ok for a watch but can't keep up with the books by far...missed the scene between marvin and the tank in the skyscraper (imo one of the most hilarious scenes in the books).

no idea. i'll see if i can spot it online. also, i would have given it an 8 if it weren't for a few researchers idiotic comments during dives like "wow, that's the bomb" or Cameron saying "the operation was off the hook"...i mean, come on, stfu already. conversly, the narration was good.

Was going to write good/bad points about the movie, but don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet.
