There’s a ranking system here that works on your number plate, the less digits you have on the plate, the more important you are. Mental money out here. I've been waiting for ages to shoot it.

Well these don't even compare to most of the pics in this thread, but since it is a photo thread I thought I'd share at least.

These are all from my vacation in St. John. A couple I think I've posted before, some I haven't...

View from the balcony

An electric fish!
(I really liked the way this one came out)

Cruz Bay at night
(Would have been much better w/ a decent camera)

Maho Bay

Nurse Shark
I really wanted to get a good pic of a shark on my first dive. Unfortunately there were too many people kicking up dirt and debris -- and I was holding onto a rock & a flashlight in one hand, trying to light the cave he was lying in, while trying to hold the camera still in the currents with the other.

Stop Light Rainbow Fish

Mixed school
(I really liked the way this one turned out as well)

Your average, run of the mill beach photo

As I said, it's got potential..

Just wondering...
You use Photoshop? I might try and make some of my pics look better with a bit of fancy editing :)

PS is a must when it comes to digital photos. Even my crappy ones above are touched up and polished to the extent of my limited experience. :)

I almost thought you were being facetious, with the wording. Darn Engrish.

But yea, 8 days in the islands without a care in the world is what produced those photos, so it's kinda cool that it carried through in a way. :)

Thanks. If you ever get a chance to go diving in St. John in the VI, don't think twice. It's unbelievable.

edit: being a diver, do you have any underwater pics? Or do you not have the gear?

I wish there were some of those in here.

Yeah, but who gives a shit really? I care about the image, not the process.

Mine is a little more than a straight B&W conversion... Monochrome channel mixer layer set to 72,42,20,-20, duplicate the background and applied diffuse glow to it, set the blending option to multiply and fill of the duplicate layer to 51%, dodged the bg layer from top to bottom to bring out the glow, kids and the trail and applied curves to enhance the contrast between the center and outsides.

But, you can't tell mine has been fucked around with.. that's the whole idea ;)
