A remastered Day of the Tentacle seems doomed to lie at the bottom of the ocean, despite being "80% done," according to a Kotaku source. A source reportedly "close to the project" told Kotaku that Day of the Tentacle was being remade with updated art and cutscenes, much like when its 90s adventure game sibling The Secret of Monkey Island got the same treatment in 2009.

That saddens me greatly.

The The Secret of Monkey Island remake looks shit, it's done in the style of the post Monkey Island 2 games, which Ron Gilbert (who made the first 2) says "don't exist" - he would want a title of Monkey Island 3a for a new Monkey Island game - and I didn't play that Tentacle game so QQ.

Anyone who thinks the remake art is better just cause it's higher colour and resolution is partially blind and knows nothing about art.

Pretty weak to just discard everything that supposedly happened after ROTJ just so the new peeps have creative carte blanche.
Pretty sure most people would want to see those stories translated to film.
