Wut? Where are you getting this? From what i've been reading, they've delayed implementation for 60 days to give time for further review. There's nothing about overruling it unless you've heard something new.Captain Mazda wrote:The CRTC decision has been overruled for now, so Canada's internet lives to fight another day.

Bell is Canada's nationwide telephone company. Rogers and Shaw are cable companies, Rogers does business in Eastern Canada, Shaw is in Western Canada. Because each of these companies built up the infrastructure in Canada, they basically have a duopoly on telecommunications. To prevent monopolizing the market, the government and CRTC (Canadian Radio-television Telecommunications Commission) mandated that both Rogers and Bell be forced to wholesale part of their business to third party companies like Cogeco, TekSavvy, etc. However, the larger telecoms still own something like 90% of the market for broadband and television cable and satellite - some people are even surprised to learn that there are alternatives to broadband other than Bell/Rogers.seremtan wrote:so, are bell and rogers the wholesalers in canada? is this how they can do impose ubb on everyone?
