I ended up going for a 46" Samsung Series 6 LED. Was tempted by the 55" but my lounge is pretty small and since I was aiming at ~42" to start with, 46" was a decent compromise. The extra features/refresh rate on Series 7/8 didn't really seem to justify their cost.
Really happy with it when it comes to the PS3 but damn, regular TV looks like arse now. Going to have to start getting some quality source I suppose. Still, I can't get over how much better games look on it. Seriously, if anyone is still running a current generation console through a CRT, you'd be well off upgrading to some species of HD with decent refresh rate

Yeah, non HD channels look like shit. But tune into a channel like Diccovery HD and you'll be amazed by the picture. Sports in HD are awesome too.
Good choice on the TV.

How is the 24p support on your plasma? One thing I really like about the new LCD's is the smooth motion of blu-rays. Does your plasma come close to what most LCD's can do?

is 400mz better than 600 for plasma? cuz they have those 50" viera 600hz plasmas at best buy for like $899... how many pounds is that?...
