Hey, they're apparently showing his death video on Larry King tonight. He apparently made it abundantly clear that if he was ever killed on-camera he wanted the video to be public.
Whacky.

Well you're gonna have to prefer someone, on account of Steve Irwin being dead.

Have you heard?

Had he known, I'm sure he would have made a disclaimer that it not be on Larry King. lol

RIP, Steve Irwin though. From all accounts I've heard, he was a good father, good husband, did wonders for conservation awareness, and built a great Zoo in Aussie-land.

Can't imagine how his wife must feel.

he also bought land here, and in countries where specific species were running out of habitat and has it set up so that the habitat (whats left anyway) remains preserved long term. A damn good bloke

That's impressive if it's true.

He almost certainly had it via the studios he worked with. Assuming he was working under a studio. I dunno. Raw would know more. I've known them to stop shoots because they won't clear the cover for a particularly dangerous scene.

The ironic thing is that conservation and awareness in Africa actually helped and is helping destroy the ecosystem because western imperialists and later homegrown african rulers brought up to actually believe the colonial era "Africans are undeveloped" dogma assumed the people who lived on the land for generations before colonization weren't sophisticated enough to manage the land themselves. Governments and individuals buy up huge swaths of land and kick the residents out or restrict their rights and not long after the "native" Africa (animals, foliage, not people) moves in. Of couse most of the time people are led to believe that they're restoring Africa back to it's "natural" state before the natives fucked it up even though most of it is a load of horse shit.

Moral of the story is the only way to conserve Africa is to turn the clock back to 1889 before colonialists divided the place up and fucked it for all of eternity.

I can't say I'm remorseful, especially after pulling a Michael Jackson with his little son. I would have been more surprised if he had lived to die of old age. The only sad thing is that now his kids grow up without a father. :icon13:

"Film of the death has already been handed to Queensland police preparing a report for the Coroner."

So anyone want to wager on how long till it's leaked?

Apparently these things are not that dangerous:

"Surf Lifesavers national marine stinger adviser Lisa-Ann Gershwin said there had only been 17 fatal stingray attacks worldwide. "I think it's just an extraordinary freak accident that has happened to his heart," she said."

Ironic that he's taken out by a stingray that isn't considered all that deadly compared to the hoard of other deadly things he plays with.

He deserved better than that. Fucking stingray.

Being swallowed whole by a Tiger Python, now that's a way to die for an outdoorsman. The video would have been longer, too.
